This autumn in Lund, 50 startups from different countries applied for participation in the second edition of eHealth accelerator program – Health2B. Eventually, nine companies have been selected to participate in the program. During the next three months, with the support of a group of mentors they will be developing their business ideas. As Ebba Fåhraeus, CEO of Smile – a business incubator that backs up Health2B states:

“As for now we have 26 companies with us, with the most of them working in traditional biotechnology. While, several of the nine newly added companies that will participate in the accelerator, working in the IT. Which means that we are extending our network and life science expertise.”

The program runs until the end of January. When the entrepreneurs will present their companies to investors, industry profiles and other stakeholders. Almi Invest who supports the project will provide the participating companies the opportunity to seek a funding base of 200 000 SEK (20,4 thousand euro).

“What is particularly pleasing is that we have received even more international participants, compared with the previous year. Just the fact that we have attracted a US team is absolutely amazing”, says Ebba Fåhraeus.
