Time to roll out the red carpet: the grand finale of the Nordic Startup Awards is fast approaching. The 22nd May is the night that startup scenes of Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland and Finland will go head-to-head in a battle of innovation and investment. The finalists have been announced and we are happy to see the Oresund-region representing strong, with the likes of Tradeshift, Trustpilot and Vivino all competing for Startup of the Year.

Not to self-promote, but worth mentioning is the fact that OresundStartup’s very own Karsten Deppert is one of few Swedes to be nominated for Best Startup Journalist.

Other than this, awards will be presented in the categories of Best Newcomer, Founder of the Year, Best Investor, Best Service Provider and Developer Hero: the winners of which will be selected by a panel of industry experts.

For now, it’s time to place your bets on your favourites. Public voting on the shortlisted startups is currently open. Be sure to use your votes wisely as you only have one for each category.  Perhaps a review of past articles on some of the nominees, including Vivino (Startup of the Year), Fitbay (Best Newcomer) and Creandum (Best Investor), will help secure your judgment. National winners will be announced the 16th May.

Voting is done in a special Facebook app.
