Malmö Startups announces today the recruitment of two local startup ecosystem talents to lead Malmö Startups and help drive faster growth and innovation for the startup community in the south of Sweden: Lovisa Nicklasson and Jeremie Poirier.

The two recruits will work hand in hand, serving as Co-Heads of Malmö Startups and will report directly to the organization’s Board of Directors and founders, Hampus Jakobsson, Sofia Franzen and Joel Larsson.

“Lovisa and Jeremie are two proven community builders with strong connections to the regional ecosystem. Their past accomplishments represent only a small fraction of what we want to achieve in the future through Malmö Startups.” says Hampus Jakobsson,

Lovisa Nicklasson joins Malmö Startups from VentureLab at Lund University where she assisted with the organisation’s mission to inspire students to realise their ideas and become entrepreneurs. Lovisa was also Project Manager for Tro på Dina Idéer, an inspirational event for female students interested in entrepreneurship. She also took the initiative to Helsingborg and Almedalen 2016, promoting gender diversity in entrepreneurship and engineering.

Jeremie Poirier departs THINK Accelerate, a startup accelerator program at Mindpark in Helsingborg he co-founded. Jeremie has a past at international startups working in social technology and renewable energy. Jeremie will become a Mentor at THINK Accelerate.

“This is an opportunity for us to work on developing the broader startup ecosystem and make as big of an impact as possible. The future for startups in southern Sweden is bright and we are thrilled to be able to be a part of building that future.” says Lovisa

Malmö Startups has served as an entry point to Malmö’s startup community for those looking to be involved in the ecosystem, ranging from students to venture capital firms. Even if it has been called Malmö Startups, the focus is on Skåne in general, something that is strengthened by Lovisa having her past in Lund, and Jeremie in Helsingborg.
