Applika, a startup specializing in web-app solutions (and who recently won the Nordic Startup Awards “Swedish Best Newcomer”), just announced that they recieved funding. The amount is unknown, but is said to be in the six-digits euros. The money will be used for expansion and further offices in the region (with new ones in Copenhagen as well as the current in Malmö and Helsingborg) as well as offices in Stockholm and Oslo.

“During our first year in business we recived suprisingly many offers of partnership and funding. However, we decided at an early stage to turn all offers down, trying to stand alone in order to keep our vision clean.
However, this investment, contrary to other offers, lets us complete our vision and work towards our goals, with the extra contribution of knowledge and experience needed for our next steps.” – says Kristian Ledel, CEO

The investor isn’t public, but rumoured to be an investor with previous good connections in the Scandinavian banking sphere. The investment should also be regarded more as a strategic partnership, according to Kristian:

“It’s not to be regarded as a finacial solution, rather as welcoming an entreprenural friendship, complementing our team and buildning for the future.”

The funding will also be used to enable further product development as well as hiring further critical skills for future growth.

We wish them the best of luck!
