We are excited today to start our search for THINK Accelerate’s newest team member, but first, a little bit about where we came from, where we are, and where we’re going.
In the dark, cold of winter in January 2015, we created the THINK Accelerate startup accelerator program in Helsingborg, Sweden. It has been one and half years since we embarked on our journey to redefine what a largely government funded startup initiative could look like. Since then, we have welcomed startups from all over the globe to Helsingborg, we cemented collaborations with technology giants like Microsoft, IBM and Amazon (AWS), and we partnered with the top venture capital firms in Sweden, Creandum, Northzone and EQT Ventures.
In building a global accelerator, we hoped to attract highly skilled talent to Helsingborg in order to develop international networks, increase collective knowledge around business, innovation and culture, and inspire more people in Skåne to start high growth, digital companies. We have had a great mix of talent participate, from a former NASA scientist, to a Richard Branson-backed team, to former Sony Mobile employees and fresh talent from Lund University.
It has been a whirlwind eighteen months, but we don’t want it to stop there. Today, we want to build the greatest startup accelerator program in the country. We do not want to build the biggest, we want to build the best. In order to do that, we need help!
We are looking for a creative and driven person to join our team and join us in shaping the future of THINK and the Helsingborg area’s innovation ecosystem. We need help from someone who knows about startups and can serve as a business developer to the startups in our program, helping with issues ranging from legal to staffing. We will also need help in continuing to expand our networks and building relationships across the global innovation ecosystem.
We are excited to continue on our journey helping people build incredible startups from the south of Sweden, and can’t wait to see where we will be in another 18 months. Johannes and Jeremie founded THINK’s accelerator program in 2015. Johannes is the Swedish part of THINK, his main focus is making sure the program and startups rock and that we have enough finances to have fika every once in a while. Jeremie is the international half of the accelerator, he focuses on external relations, basically making sure that people we like, like us back.
