The first Wearable Tech Hackathon, an initiative organised by Minc, CreativeLab and STPLN, takes place in Malmö on 10-11 May. The 24-hour event will be dedicated to prototyping and building the next cool thing in wearable technology. The host of the Hackathon is Fabriken at STPLN, a member-driven prototyping, building and hacking workshop in cooperation with Arduino Verkstad.

Where: STPLN – Fabriken, Stapelbädsgatan 3, Malmö

There is no participation fee, but some skills are required, such as knowledge of hardware (e.g. Arduino), and the process of prototyping. For those who wish to improve their skills, there will be 4 different two-hour workshops available for a fee, before the hackathon starts:

  • Arduino Intro Course
  • Arduino workshop for Wearable Tech
  • Sewing Course tailored for Wearable Tech
  • Laser Cutter Intro Course

The courses are offerered at a lower price than the standard workshops at Fabriken and the ticket includes the registration to participate in the Hackathon. The seats are limited and the registration for the workshops closes on 7th May.
The hackathon-only registration ends on 9th May and is free of charge.
