With their first round of financing, the start-up has now been able to prove that companies with a focus on sustainability are increasingly attracting investors.

“Our wireless sensors collect data and so far it has helped many of our customers to make energy savings of 10-25 percent. The next natural step for us is to invest in data analysis so that we get a more comprehensive offer. But that means that we have a lot of development time ahead of us,” he told Rapidus.

Although the effect of the pandemic is still stagnating in some parts of their business, the CEO Erik Andersson believes that their energy-saving technology tool will help revive the company. He shares that the current order flow is the strongest ever.

SenseNode is a user-friendly Industry 4.0 IIoT platform that includes comprehensive energy mapping, visualization, and management. The tool helps businesses take the correct steps to reduce energy consumption, so they can save a lot of time, money, and grow towards becoming sustainable businesses.

Rapidus reports that Lund-based gene editing service TIGERQ has been successfully raised nearly € 1 million (SEK 10 million) in their first official funding stage.

“We are incredibly grateful for the trust from our investors; they gave us the opportunity to deliver what we believe is the ultimate solution to the gene analysis field to potential customers,” says David Yudovich, co-founder of TIGERQ to Rapidus.

TIGERQ is a sample-to-analysis gene editing solution that combines proprietary sequencing algorithms with cost-effective and rapid turnaround sample processing services. The company works with commercialising services related to the Nobel-prize awarded CRISPR-Cas9 method.

Having spent years researching stem cells and their evolvement in the gene analysis field, David finds that all researchers face the same problem regarding the accuracy of their analysis. Thus, TIGERQ method was initiated to provide more precise analysis and minimize the risk of gene editing errors.

“We are very happy about the interest and support we have received with this investment. It is a fantastic result for a seed investment round for a company like ours that has such a complex technology. We will now be able to increase our sales efforts and product development to further validate our technology.” says David.

The company was established last summer and they will this funding to establish the sale department as they are expanding at a fast pace. The funding came from both Swedish and international investors.

Founded last Autumn, NordicGrow has been grown into a successful startup in the sustainable gardening market.

Their first product, Kurt – a built-in LED light and self-watering system, caught the attention of gardening enthusiasts as it was sold out within one week after their initial launch last September. Aside from this, our home builder found the best artificial grass contractor near phoenix if the said enthusiasts want to spruce up their gardens. Bugs are also unavoidable but you don’t need toxic chemicals to keep them away from your flower or vegetable garden. Instead, hire a pest control company like the ones at https://www.pestcontrolexperts.com/local/indiana/ that uses natural pest control methods.

Every year in Denmark, there is half of vegetables and herbs are thrown out because most Danes find it difficult to keep their plants fresh while growing at home. To prevent such issues, it might be wise to learn details like what is sodding.

“With our indoor garden, Kurt, it is easy for everyone to grow herbs. You only need to water once a month and the rest is taken care of by the built-in LED light and a self-watering system.” Peter Haurum, founder of NordicGrow says.

Kurt is designed for those who do not have a green thumb but are still interested in growing a green home. It is produced in Denmark, made with recycled plastic and oak wood leftovers. As the plants get all the light and water they need, gardeners can grow three herbs all year round with Kurt. Visit laweekly.com for more information about the best plants to grow indoors.

“The recycled plastic comes from Danish companies and we have among other things experimented with using plastic from Carlsberg and Novo Nordisk. When recycling plastic a lot less Co2 is emitted compared to making new plastic. The many different shades create a unique appearance which makes it apparent that every product is handmade.” Christian Ingholt Winther, product designer at NordicGrow says.

NordicGrow is going to launch a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to gather more buyers, and from that, they hope to generate more revenue to set up a larger production and for this using California Industrial Rubber has conveyor belts that are good for any kind of custom rubber parts manufacturing . The company offers buyers a 20% discount when signing up on their website and paying 20DKK (~ 2.6 EUR) in deposit before the launch.

We’re excited to have Luminate and all our previous investors on board providing their specialized expertise,” says Keenan Pinto, CEO & Co-founder of Nordetect.

Sharing his real experience with Nordetect, Mark Durno, Managing Partner, Rockstart AgriFood, expresses his interest in the future of Nordetect:

“Having personally managed both soil and hydroponic production, I know how important it is for farmers and growers to get access to accurate nutrient assessment for optimal plant growth and yield. We invested in Nordetect because they have further enabled existing wet lab chemical analysis by combining new technologies, empowering the customer to own this faster and more affordable technique as and when they need it.”

Founded in 2016 in Copenhagen by the founders Keenan Pinto and Palak Sehgal, they both have a solid background in bioengineering of plants, specifically in roots and flowers, and have spent years traveling across China, the U.S., and the Netherlands to develop the product. Keenan and Palak know that the usual process of collecting and testing soil and water samples is very time-consuming which would take up from 3 days to 3 weeks to get the result. Thus, Nordetect was invented as a one-click device and test kits that can test multiple nutrients simultaneously and get the most accurate result in a matter of minutes.

Nordetect is an analytical hardware company that produces Lab-on-a-chip devices for environmental and agricultural analysis. The company was founded in the hope to bring medical-grade technology to the farming industry. With Nordetect, farm managers, agricultural service providers, and indoor growers can remove risk and use valid data that is easy to understand and implement to ensure richer harvests.

The Copenhagen-based online reviews platform Trustpilot will be listed on the London stock exchange and expecting to raise DKK 300 million (~ €40 million). This will make the company be the first European IPO planned in London this year.

“We believe that launching an IPO in London will help us ultimately achieve our long-term goal as becoming a universal symbol of trust” says Peter Holten Mühlmann, Trustpilot’s CEO and founder

In recent years, the company has gained traction and reached a turnover of DKK 626 million (~ €84 million). However, in 2020, the actual expense was higher than the revenue as the company lost around DKK 75 million (~ €10 million). Thus, the decision of listing Trustpilot aims to allow the company to maintain the current growth and opens doors for future business expansion in bigger markets.

Having operated since 2007, Trustpilot has offered a free and easy-to-access review platform for more than 20,000 customers. The platform is reported to be capable of processing 1,800 terabytes of data per month, which is a key selling point that makes Trustpilot “an open platform where the true essence of customer’s review is prerequisite.”

Sanctify – a fintech company founded in Lund has closed a financing round at € 770.000 (SEK 7,75 million). The investment is reported to be by Hugo Ljungberg, who with the round becomes the startup’s second-largest investor only Mist Ventures.

This round was bigger then planned, Sanctify’s CEO Oscar Dahlblom’s shares:

“We only expected to raise around SEK 5 million and estimated to close the first round during the spring of 2021, but our company has acquired a huge interest that we already managed to secure the funding and close the round. The current cash of over SEK 8 million ensures an 18-month long of developing and accelerating the technology that back Sanctify’s overall operation.”

Hugo Ljungberg believes this success comes to fruition thanks to the company’s unique data-driven investment strategy.

“It is undeniable to say that Sanctify has brought in very exciting technology to the fintech area and I see enormous potential in this technology. The Capital injection will enable Sanctify to enter the market faster with their state-of-the-art AI technology. I’m looking forward to more exciting ventures with the company in the future”, Hugo says

Besides this big financial achievement, Sanctify also recognizes major contributions from their newly added board members: Rickard Nygren, who has extensive expertise in managing software businesses namely Grade, and Hubert Warzynski whose experience related to many big names in the financial sector such as Citibank, Nordea, and Credit Suisse.

Sanctify is a fintech company that offers tools tailored for the new paradigm of sustainable finance. The company aims at developing high-performance, data-optimized AI tools for analysis of financial markets and sustainability. They have two offices, in Lund and Stockholm.
