Iflorist is the third largest network of florists in the UK and operates a number of e-commerce sites such as iFlorist, iHampers, Flower Fete and is a major shareholder 1-800-Flowers.com (listed on Nasdaq).

Britain has been the largest market for EuroFlorist and after the acquisition of Iflorist the company will grow even further there.

“We had an awesome growth in the UK over the last four years, and with this deal we strengthen our position in the UK market. Iflorist has a well-developed B2B sales strategy, that we were just going to implement. Moreover, the incorporation of the Iflorist’s e-commerce into our environment would bring direct positive effects on the company’s performance,” – says Laszlo Varga, a managing director of EuroFlorist.

EuroFlorist was founded in Malmö in 1982. In 1995 the company started with e-commerce and nowadays has a network of 54000 flower shops in twelve European countries. The online sales make up sixty percent of the company’s turnover today. The company had sales of 993 million kronor (107 million euro) in the split financial year 2013/14. It is estimated that the order volume for the company after the purchase of Iflorist would increase by thirty percent. The company EuroFlorist is considered to be the most reliable floral network in the world.

“My hope for the future is that I work to make the world a little better,” – says Laszlo Varga about his plans for the future of EuroFlorist

A new manager of Connect, Anna Wilkens, starts Nordic BAN – a new marketplace to bring together 1,500 business angels in five countries of the Nordic-Baltic region, reports 8till5.

Previously Anna Wilkens has been living in San Francisco for the last six years and managed a start-up grocery service company there. That was not easy to find an investment for the company, which made it finally merge with another bigger one.

“It needs so much passion, perseverance and long time to find an investment. You should meet perhaps a hundred of investors before you finally find the one you match with,” – says Anna Wilkens

With the acquired experience she is back to Sweden to lead the development of the Connect’s business angel networks at regional and national levels.

Connect is a nonprofit organisation, which brings together entrepreneurs and investors. The organisation was founded in San Diego in 1985 and nowadays is active in 20 countries all over the world. It came to Skåne in 1998 and has already established 120 business angel networks here.

Even though Connect Skåne has facilitated an investment process for 15 companies during the last year, Anna has greater targets to achieve. She wants to include more industries, younger investors and more women into the networks. Moreover, she has an aim to strengthen national and international cooperation. To achieve the goals a new investment platform Nordic BAN is going to be launched already this month.

Nordic BAN is a collaboration between the Connect unions in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, and its sister organisations Fiban in Finland and in Estonia. Together they have about 1500 angel networks. Anna hopes that Nordic BAN will create even more favorable business environment for the entrepreneurs and investors of the region to meet each other. It is estimated that the total sum if the investments would be between 200 000 and 2 million EUR, which is quite a promising figure.

There is always a space for a new unique app, which surpasses the previous ones with its usefulness and ergonomics. An ambitious team from Denmark aspires to prove this point by challenging the market of dating services. Teazr has invented a new social discovery app, where people meet using their selfies. Recently Teazr has closed an investment round of 1,6 million DKK (214 000 EUR) from the largest venture fund SEED capital and three private investors, reported in TrendsOnline.

The app was launched in Denmark first, then in Sweden and Norway, and within weeks it will appear in the United States. Just 7 weeks after the launch, the app had 10,000 users who may benefit with toys such as those anal vibrators for beginners. And within six month since the launch it has 15,000 users in Denmark. With such a start the hope is that Teazr will become a number one app for users all around the world.

“We would like to create a product that millions want to use … we launched the app in Denmark to test it out, and as we are nearing our goal, we can finally go to the States. We will start in Los Angeles and then go to San Francisco,” says co- founder and CEO, Daniel Delouya.

The app meets the need for security and transparency in virtual communication and aims to change user experience. A new groundbreaking feature of the app is that the text on the selfies are directly transferred to the chat.

“People communicate through images instead of texting. This makes it easier for people to start a conversation with each other. You can’t select an image from your camera roll, instead you only capture the image directly through the app. In this way, we have made a seven-second snap picture for the sake of security. If you take a screenshot, you will be banned for 24 hours. If you do it again, you will be banned for 30 days. It’s one of the ways to make sure that people feel secure,” explains Daniel Delouya.

Daniel Delouya, Umar Akram, and Simon Degn are the team behind Teazr. They met in November last year and started an exciting journey to embody the idea they were burning for. Their work manifests the harmonious combination of proficiency, energy and creativity driven by enormous inspiration. Recently the first employee has joined the team, and currently they are looking for talented iOS developers, who could contribute to the development of the app on the US market.

Even though the team works nearly 24/7, they are convinced that it will be worth the effort, when people use and like the product they have created.

“It gives a taste when you can see that people are using our product – something you have spent so many hours of the night for and fought so hard. When people then actually use it and praise it it’s worth it. It sounds like a cliche, but you know, it’s not in vain, and it’s not just some hobby,” Simon Degn.
