The investors that took part in this funding round involved a majority of the company’s current investors Ekap AIF , Taxam , Djäkne Startup Studio and Lindoff Technology. In addition, the company received capital from two new investors; Queen Invest and Martin Dell. From the total amount of 2.4 million, SEK 50,000 were from Almi. 

“A very important injection of capital. This is where we may start the movement towards volume, reaching out with our platform and services in a much bigger scale. We will invest in processes and platform enhancements to provide partners and customers with a fantastic experience and we will invest in sales and marketing capacity.”says Marcus Emne, the company’s CEO and founder in Hoodin’s News.

Hoodin is a content curation and engagement platform which brings opportunities to create digital solutions with a broader range of content. With Hoodin’s platform, customers can find, retrieve, analyze, enhance and distribute digital information. The company’s services are used, for example in marketing, hospitality industry and event organization.

“What is unique for Hoodin is that we build algorithms to figure out what kind of content is in the digital information. It is about recognizing and relating the content” says Marcus in 8till5 News.

The capital will be used to further grow the company. The startup is now investing in processes and improvements to the platform, and trying to expand their services on a larger scale. According to Marcus, in Nordic 9, Hoodin’s target sales for end of 2016 is SEK 4 million (€ 408,000), almost double from 2015.

The Lund-based startup has created this modern but Swedish styled alternative as a solution to boring gym carriers and formal overnight bags.

“As a run commuter, I found it almost impossible to pack my business attire into my backpack without getting shirts wrinkled and trousers creased and after speaking to other members of my local run-commuting community, I soon realized that I was not alone” says Kirill Noskov, founder and CEO at IAMRUNBOX

The startup is currently raising funds by using Kickstarter (support them here), an enormous global community built around creativity and innovative projects. This unique idea is using crowdfunding to help with the manufacturing costs and design future products that will make our busy lives a little bit easier. “Relinklabs solves an exceptionally time-consuming problem and with that it can locate relevant candidates, who have not themselves applied for a given position. That has potential,” says Investment Manager at SEED Capital Alexander Korre-Horten.

In today’s world, big data is reshaping the digital economy. The startup has taken this into account and used it to construct a technology, which can match companies with talent. With this the traditional cognitive approach of recruiting candidates comes to an end. Through big data and machine learning, Relinklabs can recognize patterns and predict when a relevant candidate is more prone to a possible job change.

In Europe it costs, on average, DKK 60,000 to 90,000 (€ 8,000 to 12,000) and takes 10-12 weeks to recruit a new employee. 80% of the costs and 50% of the time is allocated to the process of locating potential candidates. It is in this particular process, that Relinklabs is able to make a big difference.

“The whole process of matching people with jobs is just not optimal. Over centuries of socialization, this process has been optimized into people trying to make manual connections between pieces of text. The mere limitations of human data processing capabilities are a major showstopper. It is man vs. machine and in this case, the machine wins. ” says co-founder and CEO, Ståle Fredlund Husby.

According to Ståle, the machine is capable of going through millions of documents in seconds and can make matches, that would take hundreds of man-hours to make. The three brains behind Relinklabs are Ståle Fredlund Husby, Sigurd Gran and Anders Bakke. Relinklabs’ customers are companies selling recruitment software and despite their short life they are already generating revenue.

The program starts in October for newcomers. The aim of this accelerator is provide participants with guidance in a short and intense period of time, test and realize their business ideas, and help them launch their service or product to market.

“Many of the new arrivals are entrepreneurs and have experience from their home country to run a business. It is their valuable competences and resources that we want to take advantage of, “says Sofia Franzén, CEO of Drivhuset.

The idea for a new accelerator in Malmö occurred when Drivhuset met with Arbetsförmedlingen to talk about what needs they saw among the new arrivals.

“We have seen a need for a new accelerator in Malmö focusing on new arrivals. Many of those who come here in recent years carry their dreams and ideas they want to implement. With Grit Malmö, we hope to give these people a platform where they can test their ideas and spark new projects and businesses, “says Sofia Franzén in Drivhuset’s News. 

Grit Malmö will last for three months in the fall and will begin from Malmö City Library. During these months, participants will work with their business ideas as well as take part in lectures and workshops.

The application process is now up and running and Drivhuset together with Arbetsförmedlingen will work over the next week to hand-pick 20 delegates for Grit Malmö program. It will be exciting to see what kind of talent Grit Malmö brings forth in the startup community.

Once the calculation is done, it provides an easy overview of the market including prices from all relevant bus companies. From there, the customer can just look through the offers and find the one that best suits their desires. The customer can use the buses for trips to and from the airport, Christmas parties, sports events and the like.

The company has attracted interest from some big investment profiles in the innovation sector, namely SEED Capital, Væksfonden and Midtjyske Iværksætterfond. The total amount invested is around 8 million DKK (€ 1 million). It has also added two new board members, Rasmus Busk, Managing Director at Verisure and Sven-Eric Nilsson, CEO of STYLEPIT.
