Three experienced profiles from the region have joined forces to launch Rinda Venture Studio, a new venture studio that takes on the role of operational co-founder rather than passive investor. The company is based in Malmö and Lund, with a focus on Skåne, the Nordics, and broader European scale.

Behind Rinda are Caroline Josefsson, Victoria Sandberg, and David Everlöf. The three come from different parts of business and the startup world, and chose to build something together after each independently arriving at the same conclusion.

“We get in early, and we get in as co-founders, not as passive investors. The perfect case is someone with the right domain expertise and relentless drive, who has seen a real problem up close and has an idea for how to solve it. The solution is tech-driven, built on an app, platform, or other digital system, and has the potential to scale beyond the first market. And most importantly: it has to matter. We don’t build companies just to make money. We build companies that solve problems worth solving. Another key component? Having fun along the way,”

says Caroline Josefsson, CEO & Co-founder, Rinda Venture Studio

Three paths into the same room

Caroline Josefsson is the commercial force. Over two decades she has turned ideas into growth across retail, manufacturing, and pharma, from IKEA and Barista Fairtrade Coffee to Icopal, Interpares/Woody Bygghandel, and most recently as Head of Commercial at MWI Animal Health, a Nordic veterinary wholesaler within the pharmaceutical group Cencora. She has led market entries into new countries, driven major rebranding initiatives, and built e-commerce operations from the ground up. Her work has always been about the same thing: commercialising ideas and developing the people and companies around them in parallel. Entrepreneurship, she says, was something she was doing long before she gave it a name.

Victoria Sandberg is a Malmö-based founder, ecosystem builder and angel investor with over a decade of experience across tech, startups, and the Nordic innovation ecosystem. She started her Nordic career at Sony, bridging engineering and global markets, and continues to mentor emerging ventures through Sony’s Startup Acceleration Program and Hello Tomorrow. Victoria has shaped positioning, branding, and go-to-market strategies for more than 350 startups, including hands-on interim CMO roles. Her work has contributed to teams raising over €45 million and expanding internationally. She has built three community platforms from scratch, including The House, a women innovation hub, with a focus on turning community into accessible opportunity. She is also a member of the EBAN angel investing advisory group.

David Everlöf is the builder. Over more than a decade he has built across the whole stack, from embedded C/C++ to web backends to the iOS apps he is best known for, shipping for Tetra Pak, Swedbank, Storstockholms Lokaltrafik, and Blodtrycksdoktorn. An engineer from Lund University of Technology, he is currently iOS developer at Festina. His own bets he takes end-to-end. He single-handedly built Calendarly, a print-on-demand photo calendar app, from mobile design through checkout to fulfillment, and co-founded Dapejo, where his first apps went live on the App Store. If it can be built, David builds it.

“There are far too many great ideas that never get the chance to take off. And there are far too many driven people who can’t find the right partner to build with. The three of us have seen this from different angles throughout our careers, and we realized that together, we have exactly what’s missing: operational capacity, experience, networks, and capital, from day one. So we decided to stop waiting for someone else to do it. We’re doing it ourselves.”

says Caroline Josefsson

The team has now launched Rinda, and are currently in conversation with several potential portfolio companies. They welcome both founders, solopreneurs, and investors, who want to know more.

This week Q8 Electric announced has selected Copenhagen-based Lumina to deploy its AI-powered decision layer across Q8 Electric’s fast-charging infrastructure in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, marking a significant step in the evolution of EV charging operations at scale.

As EV charging networks continue to expand in size and complexity, operating critical charging infrastructure increasingly requires intelligent orchestration of thousands of interconnected assets, systems, and operational processes. Operating fast-charging infrastructure in 2026 is about using AI effectively to orchestrate operations across these large-scale systems.

A growing challenge for operators is that infrastructure scales faster than operational teams. As networks expand, maintaining complete operational awareness becomes increasingly difficult through manual processes alone. Critical issues can be overlooked, response times increase, and hidden problems may persist longer than necessary, impacting network performance and customer experience.

“We are proud to support Q8 Electric on this journey and to be part of their future electrification efforts.”

said Sofus Laub Erdal, CEO at Lumina

Every company operating assets faces the same operational constraint: teams scale linearly while networks grow exponentially. As complexity increases, maintaining full operational awareness manually becomes increasingly difficult. Critical issues are missed, manual workflows consume valuable time, and problems can remain hidden indefinitely.

To address these challenges, Q8 Electric will deploy Lumina’s agentic decision layer across its charging operations in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. The solution is designed to continuously monitor network conditions, prioritize issues based on operational impact, coordinate responses across multiple simultaneous failures, escalate decisions when required, automate routine actions, and learn from historical resolutions to improve performance over time.

“Working chargers and sessions that start without any friction. This is no longer a competitive edge, it is the bare minimum EV drivers expect from a fast charging network. That’s why Q8 Electric is partnering with Lumina AI,”

said Nicholas Maes, Fast Charging Insights & Systems Coordinator at Q8

The deployment will support Q8 Electric’s efforts to deliver reliable, high-performing charging services across the Benelux region while creating a more scalable operating model for the future.

Rapidus was first to report that Elonroad, the Lund-based pioneer in in-road electric vehicle charging technology, has secured €8.3 million (SEK 90 million) in a new funding round from three international investors. This investment marks a significant milestone for the company, which has long sought backers who understand both its unique technology and market potential.

The funding round includes HICO Investment Group, a Singapore-based family office with a background in shipping, aligning well with Elonroad’s focus on port logistics. HICO will become Elonroad’s third-largest shareholder, with its CEO, Chris Hartnoll, joining the board. The other investors are Tamar Ventures (USA) and Butterfly Ventures (Finland), a deep tech specialist.

“At Elonroad, we believe electrification requires not only smarter software, but smarter infrastructure. Infrastructure that keeps operations moving while contributing to a more resilient and efficient energy system. This investment will help us accelerate deployment across ports, logistics hubs and industrial transport operations globally,”

says Karin Ebbinghaus, CEO at Elonroad

The current funding round is reported to value Elonroad at €22 million pre-money, reflecting growing confidence in hardware-focused solutions after a long period of investor hesitation. The funds are expected to sustain the company for 1.5 to 2 years, with the potential for additional capital depending on market development and ambition.

“While much of today’s conversation revolves around AI, software and digitalization, we still live in a physical world. Goods need to move, ports need to operate, and energy needs to reach vehicles and machines when and where it’s needed,”

says Karin Ebbinghaus

This capital injection provides Elonroad with the financial stability needed to intensify sales efforts and industrialize its product, transitioning from small-scale prototypes to commercial deployment. The company’s most significant commercial success to date is a €1.9 million contract with a California port terminal, won nearly two years ago. This deal has solidified port logistics as Elonroad’s primary market.

Gridly, a Helsingborg-based content operations platform for game and software developers, has raised €1.3 million (SEK 14 million) in a new funding round, Rapidus reports. The capital will primarily fund the integration of agentic AI into its platform, while also welcoming Jörgen Larsson, founder and former CEO of listed gaming company Stillfront, as a new investor and board nominee.

Gridly’s platform helps game and software studios organize, plan, and track digital content, a critical need in an industry where efficiency and scalability are key. The key is to remove the need for endless files, versions, or emails.

“Our platform already works very well for our customers as it is. Now, we’re focusing on integrating AI, particularly agentic AI,”

says CEO Anna Albinsson to Rapidus.

This next-generation AI will enable Gridly to automate complex workflows, strengthening its position as a must-have tool for developers.

The majority of the €1.3 million comes from existing investors, but the round also introduces Jörgen Larsson, a gaming industry heavyweight with deep expertise in the sector. He brings extensive experience from Gridlys most important vertical: gaming.

From Localize Direct to Global Ambitions

Founded in 2022 by Christoffer Nilsson and Mattias Wennerholm, Gridly spun out of Localize Direct, a company specializing in translation and localization for game developers. Rapidus reports its investor base includes Nordic Game Ventures, Teknoseed, and Innovum, alongside Subvenio Invest and Rendered VC, which led a previous round.

P-Secure, a Copenhagen-based automated background screening platform, has secured €1.8 million in a new funding round, with Michael Holm, founder of Systematic, joining its ownership. Previous investors include EIFO, Ugly Duckling Ventures, and Final Frontier, enabling P-Secure to become a European leader in automated security screening.

The investment, which follows a €2.7 million round just 10 months ago, will fuel P-Secure’s European expansion, starting with Germany and Austria, as it targets public sector and critical infrastructure clients.

Michael Holm, who built Systematic into a global defense and healthcare IT leader, brings decades of experience in scaling businesses internationally.

“Michael represents something unique. He’s built a global company from scratch, and his insights on scaling and market entry will be invaluable as we navigate our next phase of growth.”

says Lars Andreasen, CEO and co-founder of P-Secure

P-Secure’s AI-driven platform automates background checks for employees and suppliers, streamlining a process traditionally bogged down by manual workflows and paperwork. The company, founded in 2022 by former PET (Danish Security and Intelligence Service) officers, already serves nearly 100 businesses and authorities, including Copenhagen Airport, SAS, DSV, DHL, and PostNord.

In 2025 alone, its solution facilitated over 24,000 background checks across eight airports.

Initially, Andreasen avoided the public sector due to its lengthy sales cycles and high costs. But with strong revenue growth (€710K gross profit in 2025) and increasing brand recognition, P-Secure is now actively pursuing government agencies.

The investment comes as geopolitical tensions and cyber threats push organizations to prioritize human-centric security.

“The geopolitical situation, rising threat levels, and the growing risk of cyberattacks and espionage mean that security is increasingly about people – not just technology. Authorities and companies responsible for critical infrastructure and vital societal functions need far more systematic and scalable processes for background checks and security clearances. P-Secure is strongly positioned to address exactly this challenge – not just in Denmark, but across Europe,”

PerPlant, a Copenhagen-based AgTech pioneer, has raised €1 million (DKK 7.6 million) in a funding round led by Jytte Rosenmaj (Chairman of Agreena) and Kræn Østergaard Nielsen (former CEO of Coop Danmark and AI investor), Techsavvy reports. The startups is already since earlier backed by Antler and The Footprint Firm.

The investment will accelerate the rollout of PerPlant’s AI-driven precision spraying technology, which can reduce chemical use by up to 90%, a potential game-changer for farmers facing regulatory pressure and sustainability demands.

AI Gives Tractors “Eyes” to Slash Chemical Use

PerPlant’s real-time AI scanning system mounts onto tractors, using high-resolution cameras and machine learning to detect weeds and apply herbicides only where needed. Unlike traditional methods, which often rely on blind or broad-spectrum spraying, PerPlant’s technology delivers centimeter-level precision, far surpassing the 10–30 meter resolution of satellite imagery or the coverage of agricultural drones.

“I’ve always been fascinated by internet, networks and swarms and their ability to connect intelligence across the world. If you see around majority of technologies we use today are all derived from these. We’re building PerPlant Nexus with the same philosophy for agriculture.”

says Sumod Nandanwar, co-founder and CTO, about the technology

For an average farmer with 200 hectares, the system can cut herbicide use by 90% and fertilizer by 30%, enough to recoup the investment in a single season.

“Over 90% of the world’s farmland operates blindly without precision data. PerPlant’s AI creates transparency at the plant level, bridging the gap between economic gains for farmers and consumer demand for documented sustainability.”

says investor Kræn Østergaard Nielsen to Techsavvy

The system is reported to have already mapped over 200,000 hectares across Europe, nine times the coverage of all Danish agricultural drones combined, making it Nordic’s largest precision farming dataset. This audit-grade documentation can be used for verification by authorities, insurers, banks, and other AgTech providers.

With 15 employees and operations in 12 countries (including the UK, Netherlands, Poland, and Spain), PerPlant is eyeing expansion into the U.S.. The technology is particularly compelling for conventional farmers, but also holds potential for organic and regenerative agriculture.

Emission Twin, the climate tech startup helping companies measure, analyze, and reduce their carbon footprints, is continuing its mission with a focus on product-level emissions calculations and Scope 1-3 tracking, one of the most complex challenges for climate-conscious businesses.

The startup just announced that Kalle Nilvér, founder of GoClimate, as a new investor, in a smaller €400K (SEK 4.2 million) round.

“We’re investing heavily in further developing the product, with a strong focus on product calculations and Scope 3. It’s an area where we see clear demand from our customers, since their biggest challenge is often understanding and reducing the emissions connected to the products and services they purchase,”

says Anja Bexelius, CEO of Emission Twin, to Impact Loop.

The startup is focusing on creating a collaborative framework that helps entire value chains align with science-based targets. As one company’s Scope 1 emissions are another’s Scope 2 or 3, their vision is a future where every business only needs to calculate its Scope 1 emissions and contribute that data to a shared digital twin, creating a collaborative framework.

“I am proud that we have managed to combine the market’s most advanced technology with the simplest user experience. It’s precisely this blend of simplicity, flexibility, and powerful simulations that makes customers choose us. Our mission is to accelerate the climate transition, and that ambition permeates every decision we make and every line of code we write.”

says co-founder Tove Nilstun about their ambitions

The investment underscores a shared vision: reporting alone won’t solve the climate crisis, but the right data at the right level can transform decision-making. As businesses face growing pressure to decarbonize, Emission Twin’s tools are positioning the startup as a key player in the next phase of corporate climate action.
