Rickard Hansson, a seasoned entrepreneur, has launched Gainable, a platform that automatically builds working apps from spreadsheets and combined data sources in minutes, without code, prompts, or manual setup. This is Hansson’s sixth venture, bringing his experience scaling startups to a tool built to remove repetitive data work and give teams instant, functional applications.

Gainable’s engine, Gaia, connects to Google Sheets, Excel, HubSpot, Attio, Folk, Stripe, Airtable, Jira, and more, reading field names, data types, and relationships to generate a tailored app. Connecting to one source is only half of it. Gaia can combine several sources into a single app, reading across them and mapping the relationships between them as though the data lived in one place. No exports, no copy-paste, no reconciling separate systems by hand. From there users can refine the app, publish it, and share it with their team, all in minutes.

The platform addresses a common workplace challenge: teams rely on manual exports, reformatting, and distribution because existing tools like Salesforce or Power BI are built for leadership dashboards, not day-to-day operations. Gainable fills that gap, creating apps shaped around real workflows, not just reports.

“Everyone’s betting the model keeps getting better and carries them along. I think it matters less and less. What lasts is the system you own, not the model you rent,”

says Rickard Hansson

Unlike traditional dashboards that only display data, Gainable apps act on it. Gaia monitors data in real time and drafts actions for stalled deals, overdue accounts, or at-risk SLAs, which users review and approve, reducing delays and keeping work moving. The approach is already working with names like GEICO, Deutsche Telekom, and Macmillan Learning.

Most tools in this space lean on ever-larger frontier AI models to generate each app. Gainable is built the other way around: a deterministic engine does the construction, with the AI kept to the edges.

Lots of activity in the physical AI and robotics space in the region. Recently we got news that Levtek, a Malmö-based robotics startup, has deployed its autonomous robot-vehicles at Voi Technology’s central European warehouse in Poznań. This marks the beginning of a collaboration between the two Swedish companies.

Voi, a leading micromobility provider with over 160,000 vehicles across 130+ cities in 13 countries and more than 450 million rides served, is one of Sweden’s most prominent startups. Last week, Levtek delivered and commissioned its Levkart units at the Poznań facility, where they will improve operational efficiency and assist in the refurbishment of high-mileage scooters.

The partnership highlights the practical applications of integrating perception and autonomy into large-scale micromobility operations.

“Great example of how quickly the micromobility industry is maturing — from just deploying vehicles to actually re-engineering the operations behind them (refurbishment, logistics, autonomy) at serious scale. Poznań clearly punching above its weight as a hub for this kind of innovation. Exciting to see what perception + autonomy unlocks for warehouse ops once it’s proven out here,”

said Radosław Piwowarski, Site Manager at Voi Technology in a post

Levtek has raised funding from Inflection, PSV Tech, Ellipsis Ventures and FOV Ventures.

Omnidocs, the Copenhagen-based software startups backed by Dutch private equity firm Main Capital Partners, has completed its sixth acquisition in just 2.5 years with the purchase of Xink, a Danish provider of email signature and campaign management software.

This latest deal propels Omnidocs past €27 million (DKK 200 million) in annual revenue, marking a significant milestone in its journey toward global market leadership in enterprise document, presentation, and template management.

Xink’s expertise in email signature and campaign management complements Omnidocs’ existing offerings, strengthening its ability to streamline business-critical communication for organizations of all sizes.

“The acquisition of Xink brings strong competencies, new customers, and a position that aligns perfectly with the direction we are moving in. Regardless of industry or size, all businesses work with documents, letters, presentations, templates, or other forms of business-critical communication. We already hold a significant market share in the Nordics and Europe, but our goal is to set the global standard for how businesses manage their content within a few years. The market is enormous and holds great potential. Therefore, this is only the beginning of our journey.”

says Jeppe Schytte-Hansen, co-founder and CEO of Omnidocs.

The company already holds a strong market position in the Nordics and Europe, but its ambition is to set the global standard for how businesses manage their content within the next few years.

With over 6,000 customers, including BDO, SEB, Copenhagen Municipality, ATP, Chr. Hansen, Arla, Bang & Olufsen, GN, Stadt Zürich, Demant, and Coloplast – Omnidocs is rapidly expanding its footprint. The company now has offices in Denmark, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland, with its largest markets in the U.S. and Northern Europe.

“Many of our 4 million users spend a significant part of their workday collecting data, writing emails and messages, and preparing documents and presentations. If we can save them 15–20% of their time, that’s truly significant.”

says Jeppe Schytte-Hansen

The rise of AI-generated content has accelerated the need for document production, but it has also introduced new challenges. While AI enables faster content creation, businesses face increased pressure to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency, especially when documents are shared with customers, authorities, citizens, and investors.

“AI can undoubtedly improve efficiency, but it doesn’t address the need for quality, precision, and control. Both public and private companies work with large volumes of documents every day, and errors, inconsistent formats, and lack of oversight can quickly have serious consequences for the business if credibility is undermined or the right requirements aren’t met. That’s why there’s a need for solutions like ours, which not only streamline workflows but also enable faster document production without compromising quality and security.”

says Jeppe Schytte-Hansen

Lund-based Nordic Forestry Automation (NFA) has closed a financing round totaling €4.3 million (SEK 48 million). The investment amount represents one of the largest ever in a forestry technology startup in Sweden. The investment is led by Navigare Ventures and Almi Invest Greentech.

In connection with this round, Almi Invest Greentech and LRF Ventures become new minority owners of NFA. All existing owners, Navigare Ventures, Sveaskog, Södra Skogsägarna, and Almi Invest Syd, are following up on their initial investments in NFA.

”The development of operator support and automation is moving rapidly forward across all vehicle types, and NFA is leading the way in forest machinery. Succeeding in physical AI requires a highly competent team, vast amounts of training data from real production environments, and long-term financing. In our vertical, we are now uniquely equipped with a strong position across all these pillars,”

says Lars Svensson, CEO and co-founder of NFA.

NFA’s proprietary software provides forestry machinery with the unique ability to measure trees in real time, continuously supporting the operator during execution. Today, NFA’s first product, an operator support system for thinning, is deployed on forestry machinery in real-world commercial operations across 7 markets on three continents. During 2025 and 2026, development and testing commenced for next-generation products, which include tree species identification, stem shape measurement, and semi-automation.

“Through its technology, NFA delivers direct customer value with clear efficiency gains in a large market. At the same time, the solution provides substantial climate benefits to forestry, with increased volume growth and better resource utilization of the harvested forest,”

says Erik Madeyski Bengtson, Investment Manager at Almi Invest GreenTech

LivingFilters, a Lund University spinout that develops AI-designed proteins for biosensors and filters, has raised €420 K (SEK 4.6 million) in a pre-seed funding round led by Turbine Capital, with participation from Filip Larsson, Johan Billgren, Skåne Ventures, and Peter Neubauer.

The company uses AI-designed protein binders to selectively detect and remove environmental contaminants (including PFAS, pharmaceutical residues and micropollutants) from water.

The funds will support a pilot project and the development of two initial products: biosensor probes for rapid contaminant detection and selective filter components for water treatment plants.

“This investment allows us to take the next step from breakthrough science to real-world impact. Together with our partners at the Chemistry department at Lund University, RecoLab and industry partners, we will validate our technology in operational water treatment environments and accelerate the path towards commercial deployment. Our ambition is to make precision-designed proteins a new tool in the global effort to secure clean water.”

says Mikaela Persson, co-founder and CEO at LivingFilters.

Current water treatment technologies (activated carbon, ozonation, membrane filtration) are all non-selective and energy-intensive. They are hard to reconfigure as the list of regulated contaminants grows. Two EU directives are now forcing action: the Drinking Water Directive requires PFAS monitoring from January 2026, and the revised Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive mandates a fourth treatment step for pharmaceuticals and micropollutants, with large plants required to comply by 2033.

“Mandatory compliance deadlines have converted a diffuse environmental problem into a funded procurement market. LivingFilters combines unique expertise acquired through advanced training and research at the world-leading Baker Lab for computational protein design with cutting-edge research at Lund University, a technology with no direct commercial comparable in Europe, and a regulatory tailwind that does not depend on voluntary adoption.”

says Karin Edström, General Partner at Turbine Capital.

LivingFilters uses AI to design protein binders from scratch, creating molecular tools that bind to a single target contaminant with high precision. A new binder can be computationally initiated within hours and experimentally validated within a couple of weeks.

The platform builds on breakthroughs recognised by the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for computational protein design. LivingFilters’ co-founder and Chief Science Officer Amijai Saragovi conducted his postdoctoral research at the Baker Lab, Institute for Protein Design, University of Washington, the world’s leading group in computational protein design. He now leads his own protein design group at Kemicentrum, Lund University.

It also reports that Flaypay now serves more than 100,000 customers.

Founded in 2022 by Sander Janca-Jensen and his co-founders, Flatpay was built on the belief that a great workplace and rapid growth can coexist. And the startup has had a rapid growth and high ambitions from the start. In March last year we reported in their aim was to reach 1,000 employees within that year. And in November 2025 they raised a €145 million round, making them the fastest startup to reach unicorn status in Denmark.

“A large part of our success is simply due to the fact that we treat each other properly. I’ve worked with incredibly talented people throughout my career, but talent is never an excuse to behave badly towards your colleagues. We decided early on that we would never compromise on this kind of thing, and we still stick to that,”

Cognibotics, A Lund-based deep-tech robotics startup, announced that they have been selected for €6.5 million in blended finance from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator under the Horizon Europe programme. The funding includes a €2.5 million grant and €4 million in equity financing.

The funding will support the next stage of development and industrialisation of HKM1800, Cognibotics’ robot platform for logistics and manufacturing. The breakthrough combines a new hybrid kinematic design with advanced motion control, making it possible to deliver delta-class speed with a 10 times larger workspace, while using around one-third less energy than traditional robots. Together with software for model-based motion control and powerful programming, HKM1800 is designed to reduce engineering effort, speed up commissioning, and make advanced automation easier to scale.

This makes HKM1800 a new class of industrial robot, offering quick installation and more than 2,000 picks per hour across a 10 square meter workspace, breaking the traditional speed–reach trade-off.

“This is an important validation of both our technology and our direction as a company. The project is not only about bringing HKM1800 to market, but also about advancing the software and automation approach behind it. Together, this gives us a strong platform for scaling in logistics and manufacturing.”

says Fredrik Malmgren, CEO of Cognibotics

Cognibotics has previously raised a bit more than € 9 million, from among others Fairpoint Capital, Newton, Tibia, Port-Monnaie, and LU Holding. The startups modular tech stack closes the gaps between existing industrial technologies while also providing new high-performance motion control, novel arm kinematics, a dynamic real-time software foundation, intuitive motion programming, and emerging motion intelligence.

Copenhagen-based fintech Franklin – the payment card built for e-commerce – closes a €1.6M (DKK 12 million) seed round led by True Collective to make AI the foundation of how e-commerce businesses manage their finances.

Franklin is the payment card built for e-commerce. Its cards are designed for high ad spend, so campaigns don’t stall mid-weekend or during Black Friday because of a low limit, and every euro an e-commerce spends on ads, software and operations earns 0.5% back, uncapped. On top of that, Franklin’s AI automatically fetches and matches receipts from Meta, Google, TikTok and the other tools merchants pay for – so bookkeeping runs on autopilot and the books close in no time.

“AI is one of the biggest game changers in modern business, and we’re building Franklin so our customers feel it directly in their everyday. We’re moving from finance tools that just show you numbers to AI agents that actually do the work for you. This round lets us reinvent the way our customers interact with their finances – AI is becoming the foundation for everything we do. We’ve come a long way in two years, but we’re just getting started.”

said Nikolaj Bomann Mertz, CEO & Co-founder, Franklin

More than 250 Danish companies, primarily e-commerce stores, already run on Franklin, growth has been remarkable, and the company has made a strong start in the Dutch market.

“We’re at the start of a fundamental shift in how e-commerce runs its finances. Soon AI agents will do the work for them, automatically and responsibly. Franklin is uniquely positioned to become the market leader for European e-commerce – and the potential is enormous. That’s why we’re all in.”

said Rolf Pedersen, True Collective

With this round, Franklin is going all in on agentic finance. Today, businesses manage their money in Franklin; the company’s vision is a near future where their AI agents do all the work – reconciling, categorizing and acting

“We’re bringing agentic finance to e-commerce – reinventing the way our customers interact with their finances through Franklin. AI is going to be the foundation for everything we do, and how our product works.”

Nikolaj Bomann Mertz
