A new startup, Nature Development Company, has emerged from stealth mode. The startup introduces a different approach to nature restoration by transforming it into a scalable investment opportunity. The company focuses on reviving degraded ecosystems in the Global South, creating projects that capture CO₂, restore biodiversity, and deliver tangible social benefits to local communities.

By leveraging carbon and biodiversity credits, Nature Development Company aims to bridge the gap between environmental conservation and financial returns, offering a sustainable investment model that aligns profit with planetary health.

The startup is led by a strong and experienced team. Jens Böhme with a past as CEO at the Planetary Responsibility Foundation, Kristoffer Sparre from EcoTree International, Andreea Kaiser from ALFA development and Ludvig Find and Michael Bak with a long background in the tech and startup scene.

The company operates at the intersection of biodiversity, climate action, and finance, with a mission to convert exhausted agricultural land into thriving ecosystems. Its first projects will launch in Latin America, a region known for its rich biodiversity but also its highly vulnerable ecosystems.

“Nature restoration has traditionally relied on philanthropy and public funding. Today, new market mechanisms for CO₂ and biodiversity credits make it possible to combine financial returns with real nature restoration, with full transparency, scientific rigor, and measurable results.”

said Jens Böhme, CEO of Nature Development Company.

Nature Development Company’s projects are designed to reverse decades of environmental degradation. According to the WWF’s Living Planet Report 2024, biodiversity in South America has declined by over 90% since the 1970s, driven by deforestation and unsustainable farming.

The company’s initiatives will restore natural habitats, sequester carbon, and generate revenue through the sale of high-integrity carbon and biodiversity credits.

“The challenges of climate change and environmental degradation have long called for new, systemic solutions – and I truly believe Nature Development Company can bring honest innovation and real long lasting impact.”

said Michael Bak, CBDO at Nature Development Company

The global market for voluntary carbon credits is rapidly expanding, with projections suggesting growth from $1.7 billion in 2024 to over $50 billion by 2030 and potentially $370 billion by 2035. Nature Development Company plans to position itself as a leader in high-integrity carbon removal credits, ensuring its projects meet Verra standards, one of the world’s most rigorous certification frameworks for climate and biodiversity impact.

The company’s projects are built for long-term impact, with a minimum horizon of 30 years. Beyond carbon capture, they will create local jobs, support education, and ensure sustainable land use. Once restoration goals are met and financial returns are delivered to investors, the land will be transferred to national parks, Indigenous communities, or conservation trusts to ensure permanent protection.

“Over the past months our founding team has worked rigorously to secure funding for our first green infrastructure project – and we’re now closing in on Colombia as our starting point.”

said Michael Bak

The startup reports it has secured initial funding for two years now, and plans to raise at least $ 50 million in 2027–2028.

“We aim to restore nature in the areas where it’s needed most – and do it at scale. The market is now ready to combine nature conservation with a professional business and financing structure that appeals to institutional investors. With a strong team and a clear business model, we’re ready to deliver on these ambitions.”

said Ludvig Find, Chairman of the Board.

Garba, Malmö-based AI-powered sales intelligence platform founded last year, has emerged from stealth mode.

Founded by Kristopher Stenkula-Wilbur and Marcus Norrving, who previously founded Notified, a startup acquired by West Corporation in 2019, Garba aims to revolutionize how sales and customer success teams leverage customer insights to drive their go-to-market strategies.

“After months of refining with early adopters, we’re officially launching today. But already, leading sales and CS teams—from Helsinki to São Paulo—rely on Garba daily.”

says Kristopher Stenkula-Wilbur

Addressing a Critical Need

The inspiration for Garba came from the challenges faced by the Notified team in maintaining a customer-centric approach. Despite setting up structured sales processes, the team struggled with manually sifting through meeting notes to understand product reception, competitive positioning, and missed signals.

“When we built Notified, we prided ourselves on being customer-centric. But staying truly close to the customer was harder than it should’ve been. We set up structured sales processes — and spent endless hours trying to get the team to actually follow them. We manually combed through meeting notes, trying to understand how our product landed, how competitors were framed, and what signals we were missing. It was messy, reactive, and far from scalable.”

says Kristopher Stenkula-Wilbur

But the startup addresses not just critical needs. Also launched is their Merch Store, where you can buy merch inspired by their unique brand esthetics.

The new batch of companies starting in the Future Retail Incubator program at E-commerce Park of Sweden has now been made public. For the first time, participants are involved in both the e-commerce track and the sustainability track, which focuses on circular business models.

One aspect that sets Future Retail Incubator apart from other incubators is the number of female entrepreneurs participating. This strong representation of female founders demonstrates the incubator’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse entrepreneurial environment. Participants come from across Sweden, with some even coming from outside Europe, further strengthening regional collaboration and international connections.

Among the companies in the incubator are:

Miniferrum: A company creating innovative iron supplements for children and women, based entirely on heme iron.

Fyaril: A marketplace connecting global producers of handmade and sustainable products with customers.

Lahku: Climate-smart and eco-friendly clothing, inspired by nature and produced under fair conditions.

Catmist: A player in the pet industry offering innovative and healthy products for our four-legged friends.

Go Cirkular: A beauty brand specializing in upcycling raw materials to reduce environmental impact.

“We are excited to welcome these promising new companies to our incubator. They represent a wide variety of industries, but all share a common drive to create value for customers and a desire to grow. We are especially proud that the majority of our entrepreneurs are women, and we look forward to continuing to promote diversity and innovation in entrepreneurship.”

says Zhenni Liang.

“The program has had more female than male entrepreneurs applying and being accepted over the past five years, which is quite rare compared to many other incubators and accelerators,”

Zhenni continues.

With Zhenni Liang’s leadership, the focus on sustainability has significantly increased within the incubator program. Zhenni, who was a key figure behind the recently concluded the international Impact event, The Drop, has taken on the challenge of ensuring that more sustainable business ideas in retail can grow in Sweden.

Since its inception in 2015, the Future Retail Incubator has helped e-commerce companies grow faster than the industry average, with a strong focus on sustainability and expansion. The program offers companies unique support, including expertise in digital marketing, networking opportunities, and access to resources necessary to build successful e-commerce businesses.

The new group of companies is expected to contribute to strengthening the incubator’s already impressive track record. Companies that have previously participated in the Future Retail Incubator have shown an average annual growth rate of 40%, and their combined revenue now exceeds € 60 million.

Transparency: Karsten Deppert, the initiator of this site, is also co-founder of E-commerce Park of Sweden and has been part of founding and leading their incubator program.

The new version will pay creators $1 for each view of their video, and a referral program will allow creators to bring others onto the platform and earn an additional 10% of their revenue for 12 months. Co-founder and CEO Jesper Palmborg revealed this initiative, explaining that Netnedge will monetize by selling video engagement data to data-enhancement companies.

Palmborg also addressed concerns about potential system exploitation, stating that only logged-in users will count as views and that fraud prevention measures will be in place to ensure fair engagement.

This innovative approach is set to drive growth for Netnedge and position it as a key player in the B2B content market.

Contribe, a Copenhagen based startup, has successfully raised €1 million to expand its platform that transforms online shopping into an opportunity for consumers to support social causes. With the goal of reaching one million users by the end of 2025, Contribe is rapidly redefining the e-commerce landscape by integrating social responsibility into everyday transactions.

Founded in Copenhagen in 2023, Contribe has quickly established a significant presence in the online retail space, partnering with over 100 stores and gaining 100,000 users globally. The platform appeals particularly to Gen Z and Millennials, who are increasingly looking for ways to make purchases that contribute positively to the world.

A Modern Take on Loyalty Programs

Contribe’s platform offers what co-founder Christoffer Winther Bouet describes as a “modern form of loyalty.” It allows customers to support various causes—ranging from plastic collection and carbon capturing to women’s rights—simply by shopping online, at no extra cost. This approach not only meets the growing consumer demand for brands that contribute to societal good but also helps businesses enhance their market differentiation and customer loyalty.

“At Contribe, we believe every transaction is an opportunity to make a difference. Our platform enables businesses to create a win-win-win situation: customers support causes they care about while shopping online, and companies are rewarded for making a difference,”

Christoffer Bouet explains

Rapid Growth and Strategic Impact

The startup’s rapid customer acquisition, which includes notable brands such as MessyWeekend, Copenhagen Cartel, Sinatur Hotels, and Understatement from Sweden, underscores the compelling value proposition of Contribe’s solution. Businesses that adopt Contribe’s platform not only foster a positive image but also see tangible benefits such as improved conversion rates, increased order values, and higher customer retention.

“Our customers are not only doing good for the planet; they are also improving their performance and getting happier customers. That’s why we call it a win-win-win,”

says Bouet.

Future Ambitions and Funding

The recent funding round was led by Rockstart, Human Act Development, EIFO, and several well-known business angels, positioning Contribe for global expansion. The funds will be utilized to scale the business, with a specific focus on adapting to upcoming EU legislation that will affect ESG and sustainability reporting requirements for SMEs across Europe.

Contribe is set to play a pivotal role in this regulatory transition, offering SMEs a seamless solution to manage their sustainability reporting, thereby aligning with broader legislative trends and consumer expectations.

“We are building the future, and we believe that in 10 years, shopping with social sustainability will be standard for all companies,”

Bouet projects.

As Contribe continues to grow, it aims to set a new standard for how e-commerce can be a force for good, blending profitability with purpose, and leading the charge towards a more sustainable and equitable global market.

The Danish startup Viio helps companies keep track of all the software subscriptions and cloud services that employees have access to.

When Viio asks a medium-sized company how many software subscriptions they have, the typical answer is “about 20”. But most actually have well over 100, often between 200 and 500. They even report that they have seen an example with 1100 software tools in a company with only 1500 employees. And many of them are not used, but they are paid for.

According to research firm Gartner, 30 percent of SaaS costs are wasted. So, there is a huge potential in managing SaaS agreements. The waste may consist of having licenses for too many users or the solution not being used as much as paid for. Or other solutions already meeting the need.

Most companies have experienced this problem, which is why Viio has been able to raise over € 3 million (25 million DKK) from a number of well-known investors, led by the venture fund North Ventures and including Christian Kromann, CEO of SimCorp, Dorrit Kromann, Klaus Holse, former CEO of SimCorp and now Chairman of the Confederation of Danish Industry, Susanne Bechmann Holse, Ulrik Bo Larsen, former CEO of Brandwatch (formerly Falcon.io), and Ole Andersen, former Nordic Director of Apple.

“Viio addresses a need present in every company I’ve encountered. Enormous sums are spent on software that is never used. Viio has a huge market potential and with such clear ROI for customers, it is a no-brainer to buy the tool. It is complex to build a solution like Viio, but the team really delivers on it and they execute the plans we have laid out strongly.”

says Ulrik Bo Larsen, board member and investor in Viio

Viio Sheds Light on Software Costs

Viio has registered over 60,000 different SaaS services that one can subscribe to. These range from well-known services like ChatGPT, Zoom, and Photoshop to large enterprise solutions like Google Workspace or Teams, and to more obscure AI services, small apps, and cloud services used to make the next PowerPoint presentation extra polished.

Hits Trend After COVID-19

During Covid-19 and the period of zero interest rates and “free” capital, SaaS consumption ran wild in many companies. Everyone needed Zoom and/or Teams for remote work and online meetings. Now, the economic environment is tighter, and many are thoroughly cutting unnecessary expenses. Companies have been trying to solve the problem for a couple of years, but it has become very complex. Therefore, Viio addresses a significant, unmet need.

“We find that companies want to buy the solution, but they also want to buy the expertise to get the full value of the solution. When we started offering that and not just being another SaaS, sales exploded.”

says Michael Fornander, CEO and founder of Viio

This can save companies very large amounts of money:

“We always offer 3 times ROI to customers and have several cases with 10 times ROI,”

says Michael Fornander.

However, Viio’s long-term mission is much more ambitious than reducing customers’ costs:

“We are at the beginning of another technological revolution where all software is assessed as part of a whole, and where parts are continuously optimized and replaced so the solution is optimal. With our data foundation and insight into employees’ use of software within each company, we can help companies make the best choices based on both economy and what other similar companies use. This will be a competitive parameter for our customers, not about costs, but about creating an agile technological foundation that significantly increases their value creation.”

says Michael Fornander.

In an ambitious move to transform the landscape of investment analysis, Danish tech startup Signal (now: Evertrace.ai) has secured funding for the expansion of its AI-driven technology platform. This platform is designed to provide venture and private equity funds with real-time, enhanced data on potential investments, candidates, and competitors, thereby enabling more informed and strategic decision-making.

Signal, founded by Simon Bøttkjær and Jacob Graubæk Houlberg, both veterans of the venture capital industry from PreSeed Ventures, is poised to launch its platform, Signalanalytics.io, which promises to offer key figures, insights, and important metrics for professional investors and business angels, leveraging in-depth data and artificial intelligence. The company is also supported by a third former colleague from PreSeed Ventures, Jonatan Hjortdal, who has joined as the company’s chairman.

The funding round attracted a noteworthy group of investors, including Rune Christensen, the founder of MakerDAO; Mads Mikkelsen, co-founder of health-tech platform Practio; and Simon Bækgaard Christoffersen, a partner at Highbridge Lawfirm. These new investors bring a wealth of knowledge and experience from the tech and venture capital industry, promising to add significant value to Signal’s operations.

“We are incredibly proud that the investors have put their faith in us, and we are very excited to have them join our journey. The new ownership brings significant knowledge and experience from the tech and venture industry, which we are confident will create substantial value for Signal.”

says Simon Bøttkjær, co-founder of Signal

As part of Signal’s strategy, the plan is to use the newly raised capital to boost growth and establish a presence among leading global players in the private equity and venture markets.

“Technology is turning every industry upside down at the moment, and the venture industry is certainly no exception. Especially artificial intelligence is currently creating A and B teams in venture funds and capital firms. Those with the best tools win the best deals and create the most value for their investors,”

says Jacob Graubæk Houlberg, co-founder of Signal.

With the newly raised capital, Signal plans to accelerate its growth and cement its position among the leading global players in the private equity and venture markets. The company’s strategic vision is to reach out to private equity and venture funds worldwide, building strong customer relationships and partnerships with funds and business angels on an international scale.

“We have great faith that the platform will create value among leading international players in alternative investments. The development of AI has brought about significant changes, and now it will also revolutionize the investment industry,”

says Mads Mikkelsen, co-founder of Practio and one of the investors in Signal
