The 2026 Winners from the region

Nélida Leiva Eriksson of Ironic wins the county prize for BioHeme, a solution addressing one of the world’s largest global health challenges, iron deficiency. Using a patented, plant-based heme protein produced through precision fermentation, BioHeme enables significantly higher iron absorption while avoiding the side effects of traditional supplements. The jury highlighted the company’s strong scientific foundation, clear commercialization strategy, and secured financing as creating good conditions for global launch in both supplements and food products.

Vahid Sohrabpour of Saveggy wins for an innovative, plant-based edible coating that extends the shelf life of fruits and vegetables while replacing plastic packaging. The solution addresses global food waste and, with verified sales in retail, clear scalability, and upcoming EU directives banning plastic food packaging, the jury sees major international market potential.
SKAPA Talent for Young Innovators

Annika John of Salt & Fiber is recognized for developing innovative, biodegradable textile fibers from seaweed that replace synthetic materials and reduce microplastic emissions. The solution tackles the textile industry’s major environmental challenges while benefiting the marine environment by making use of seaweed waste from beaches.

Rohon Kundu of NodeXCloud wins for an innovative solution for secure, decentralized cloud storage, where data is encrypted, fragmented, and distributed to eliminate vulnerabilities associated with centralized systems. With a strong research foundation, patented technology, and ongoing pilot projects with international customers, the jury sees significant global market potential and ambitions to establish a European standard for secure cloud storage.

Innofounder is a 12-month, full-time incubator program for early-stage entrepreneurs with innovative, knowledge-based ideas that are beyond the concept stage but not yet market-ready, with little or no revenue and limited prior external funding. It has the option of providing a limited amount of funding as well, up to € 14.000 (DKK 100.000).

In an interview with Bootstrapping.dk, the leaders of the incubator shared their key learnings. Lotus Søs Nellemann, Head of Business Mentoring, points to two common mistakes in a startup’s first twelve months: founders who build blindly without validating their assumptions about their target audience, and founders who refine their MVP until it becomes a maximum viable product instead of a minimum one.

But the most striking pattern she highlights is not about product at all. It is the silent trap of co-founder disagreements about roles, direction, and ambitions that founders postpone because it is easier to focus on the product.

“It’s rarely the product itself that brings down a team in the first year. It’s the conversations they missed,”

said Lotus Søs Nellemann, Head of Business Mentoring at Second Foundation.

The interview also covers how generative AI has changed early-stage building. Since 2023, the incubator has followed more than 420 startups building under AI conditions, and the leaders describe how small teams now move dramatically faster, with multi-agent tools compressing development cycles that once took years into weeks. At the same time, they emphasize that prioritization has become more important than the ability to build: it does not matter if you can build 50 new features in an afternoon if they are not relevant to customers.

The company aims to address a growing pain point in climate reporting. More and more companies face requirements to report emissions across their entire value chain, known as Scope 3 emissions, and purchased goods are often the largest and most difficult item to obtain reliable data for. Even companies that want to buy circularly struggle to find products, compare alternatives, and collect the sustainability information that reporting requires.

On ReLoopDesign, climate data follows the transaction itself. Companies buying through the platform receive the data for their Scope 3 reporting automatically with every order, instead of producing it afterwards as a separate project.

“Three months after the launch in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland, we have almost 30 brands on the platform, and now we are scaling up toward companies and the public sector, where the climate data for Scope 3 reporting follows with every order,”

said Simon Ottosson, COO and co-founder of ReLoopDesign.

Two tools sit at the center of the offering to businesses and the public sector. The sustainability calculator structures information about each product’s materials, recycled content, and circular properties in one place, in a format usable both in purchasing decisions and in sustainability reporting. The tender portal turns the procurement process on its head: companies and public organizations can publish a need or upcoming procurement, even without a finished product specification, and relevant brands receive the request directly and can propose circular solutions and submit tenders. ReLoopDesign is currently in dialogue with several major construction and property companies as well as municipalities.

The platform gathers everything from furniture, interior design, and fashion to office supplies, construction materials, packaging, and corporate gifts, for both private individuals and businesses. Every product is reviewed for its material composition before being listed, with a requirement that at least half the material be recycled.

ReLoopDesign holds no inventory of its own. Brands handle stock and deliveries themselves, while the platform provides the sales channel, payment flow, and cross-border trade. Brands pay no fixed fees, and the company takes a commission per order. For many smaller manufacturers of circular products, this becomes a way to reach the corporate market in four countries without building their own sales channels in each one.

Although the Nordics are often treated as a single market, language, buying behavior, payments, shipping, VAT, and returns differ between countries, and Norway adds customs and import as it stands outside the EU. ReLoopDesign therefore combines a common technical platform with local presence through its own Country Managers in Denmark and Norway.

The company was founded by John Waldemarsson, Ervin Dizdaric, and Simon Ottosson. John Waldemarsson, CEO, has a long background in B2B sales and business development, including digital solutions for financial reporting, ESG, and CSRD to larger listed companies in Sweden, Norway, and the Baltics, which is where the idea of letting sustainability data follow the purchase took shape.

From the Swedish side of the Øresund region 4 startups made the list. The criteria are that the companies need to have at least € 1 million in revenue (2025), a Year-on-year growth of revenue at least 30% compared to 2024, profitable (or almost profitalbe) and not listed on any stock exchange.

Flexotrap’s Explosive Growth in Shooting Range Innovation

Flexotrap, a Lund-based startup founded in 2023, has achieved substantial growth with its modular bullet trapping system for shooting facilities. The company reported a 2025 net revenue of SEK 10 million, representing a 335% year-over-year increase. Flexotrap also maintained a break-even result, showing it can scale efficiently while meeting market demand.

LaddaTillsammans Charges Ahead in EV Infrastructure

LaddaTillsammans, based in Helsingborg, is making waves in the electric vehicle (EV) charging sector. The company, which provides smart EV charging solutions for condominium associations communities (bostadsrättföreningar), and property companies, saw its 2025 net revenue rise to SEK 35.5 million, a 33% increase from the previous year. Profits also more than doubled, climbing from SEK 0.9 million in 2024 to SEK 2.7 million in 2025, highlighting a strong market fit and operational efficiency.

Mylla Growth in Local Food

Mylla, a Malmö-based online marketplace, connects local farmers directly with consumers, promoting sustainable and transparent food systems. In 2025, Mylla achieved a net revenue of SEK 24 million, up 112% year-over-year, and turned profitable with SEK 4.2 million in earnings, compared to a SEK 4.6 million loss in 2024.

RemotiveLabs Drives Innovation in Simulation

Meanwhile, RemotiveLabs, also based in Malmö, working with vehicle simulation on a developer-centric platform. The company reported a 2025 net revenue of SEK 10.1 million, a 71% increase, and reduced its losses from SEK 2.8 million in 2024 to SEK 0.6 million in 2025, signaling progress toward profitability.

The binder technology, visiBINDER, is a mycelium-based binder designed for paving and infrastructure applications. The technology is designed to offer a less energy intensive solution for paving materials while meeting the durability and performance requirements of outdoor applications. These cultivated pavers where pioneered last year at the Fælledby construction site in Copenhagen, following extensive testing.

The funding round includes HICO Investment Group, a Singapore-based family office with a background in shipping, aligning well with Elonroad’s focus on port logistics. HICO will become Elonroad’s third-largest shareholder, with its CEO, Chris Hartnoll, joining the board. The other investors are Tamar Ventures (USA) and Butterfly Ventures (Finland), a deep tech specialist.
