The donations, which can be maximized with tips like how to fundraise, are financed with ads in the phone from sustainable companies, like SJ and GodEl. Since the app was released one year ago around 38k EUR have been donated to various charity organizations. Now, the company aims for millions to be donated next year.

Bigheart will be available worldwide next year, with international charity organizations and local programmatic advertisements, but marketing and sales are focused on the UK to start with.

“We have proven the concept in Sweden, trimmed our engine and is now ready to accelerate both on our home market but also internationally. We will be focusing our effort to the UK to start with, which is a strong market if we look at digital ad spend and the attitude towards charity”, says Jakob Gelberg, co-founder and CEO of Bigheart.

To finance the next step in Bigheart’s growth journey, an equity crowdfunding campaign has been launched with the help of companies like the one at https://www.savethemusic.org/.

“We have talked to David Nilsson Sträng at HETCH and Helsingborg’s city for a long time about their plans to build a tech environment centrally in the city. The board has for several years been discussing a physical expansion, and we have now found perfect partners to do just that.” says Sebastian Fuchs, co-founder and CEO of SUP46.

SUP46 has already welcomed two new members; Fintech company Jolle, which was part of Fasttrack Malmö and Helsingborg-based Bigheart, which was part of THINK Accelerate.

“It is great that Europe’s leading startup community SUP46 chooses to invest in Helsingborg as the first city outside Stockholm.” says David Nilsson Sträng, initiator of HETCH.

Behind the new initiative HETCH, which will expand into the new Waterfront Business District, is David Nilsson Sträng, who previously ran fintech startup Smart Refill. The initiative is also supported by fintech giant Resurs Bank and property developer Wihlborgs.

Helsingborg has the last couple of years strengthened itself as a tech and entrepreneurial city. With places such as Mindpark and the E-commerce Park of Sweden for many years having contributed to new business environments. Also initiatives such as the logistics hub Grow from NoWaste Logstics creates clusters within different fields.

Together with the news it was also announced that Think Accelerate will move into the new tech-hub as well, from it’s current place at the Mindpark coworking space.

Jakob Gelberg and Robert Sabelström is the founders of BIGHEART, and partly situated in Helsingborg. The team was part of THINK Accelerate´s fall batch 2016 and is now ready to grow even more.

The crowdfunding campaign started 16 of March at Fundedbyme. Only 9 days (edited) later they met their goal with 210 000 euro (2 000 000 SEK). This is from 95 investors which now have 18,20% of the companies shares.
