We track over 500 startups in this region, and of these over 100 have women founders or co-founders that we know about. So on this day, we wanted to highlight 25 interesting startups, co-founded by women, to watch out for in 2025.

This list consists of us and external advisors who highlighted different startups. It is not an objective list, but rather based on personal insights and who we believe will have an interesting 2025.

The list is of both younger startups and more established scale-ups, and in different fields – from AI startups to those focusing on food or nutrition, to e-commerce. One thing is clear – there are definitely a lot of interesting startups building great products in this region.

Della8: Crafting fashion-forward and functional products tailored to modern lifestyles. Co-founded by Emelie Nilsson Sträng. (Marketplace)

EasySize: Helping online shoppers find the perfect fit, reducing returns, and elevating the shopping experience. Founded by Gulnaz Khusainova. (E-commerce, SaaS)

Emission Twin: Developing technologies to monitor and reduce emissions, contributing to a greener future. Their software unites the ecosystem to help companies reach their climate goals. Co-founded by Tove Nilstun. (Climate, SaaS)

Inimini: Transforming the second-hand market for children’s clothing with a convenient online platform. Their goal is to increase the use of second-hand children’s clothing by making it easy for customers to find what they are looking for. Founded by Josefin Runquist and Maja Vallinder. Matr Foods: Uses the art of traditional fungi fermentation on a mix of Nordic organic vegetables, legumes and grains to create a new healthy plant ingredient rich with deep umami flavour and a juicy tender bite. Co-founded by Randi Wahlsten. (Food, Climate)

Miniferrum: Creating innovative iron supplements for children and women, based entirely on heme iron. Co-founded by Marlén Melander. (Food)

Najell: Designing innovative baby products that combine functionality with stylish design. Co-founded by Freja Najafi Kristensen. (E-commerce, Clothing)

NitroVolt: Offers a clean, green, and local ammonia production system that gives power to the individual farmer over their own nitrogen-based fertilizer needs. The technology relies on lithium-mediated ammonia synthesis reactor, called Nitrolyzer. Co-founded by Suzanne Zamany Andersen. (Climate)

These startups are not just businesses; they represent the resilience, creativity, vision – and a drive to make an impact in the world. For instance, Inimini’s founders, Josefin Runquist and Maja Vallinder, have built a sustainable platform for second-hand clothing, oOr Emelie Nilsson Sträng who wants to enable a better sharing economy so that we can use resources smarter with Della8. Through continuous digital measurements, which can be complemented by medical health checks, Wellbefy’s platform provides a holistic view of each employee’s wellbeing. This makes it possible to discover new types of correlations between different parameters and thus offer customized suggestions to employees to strengthen their well-being, such as programmes, exercises and articles. If needed, occupational health services are also provided, such as counseling and digital doctor visits. The more data collected, the smarter the system becomes.

Wellbefy has also recently been approved as an organizer of occupational health care by the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. This means that the company’s customers can receive grants for rehabilitation support and preventive measures carried out via Wellbefy.

“We are now gathering everything under the same umbrella and becoming the first digital player to really challenge traditional occupational health. A big difference is the data collection that allows us to be more proactive and accessible to the employee. Through the app, we can provide recommendations and support directly to the entire organization – without going through HR,”

says Sandra Jönsson, co-founder and CEO of Wellbefy. 

Through the platform, HR and managers can also book services directly with Wellbefy’s partners. These include Ljung & Sjöberg (proactive drug management), Competensum (HR partner in work environment and rehab matters) and Envicon (work environment technology). Other expertise is available internally and via psychologists and behavioral scientists who have been involved in developing the platform. 

“A holistic, data-driven and promotional solution is complex to develop and something that has been missing from the market. With the help of smart data collection and collaborations with health experts in all necessary areas, Wellbefy can now offer just that,”

Multiple startups are launching new features when daily operations all over Europe are changing due to the coronavirus. We just reported Gigsguide, a start-up within the travel and music industrylaunching virtual tours. Last week, the hr-tech startup Wellbefy launched a special version of their employee experience tool, aimed at organisations that have switched to remote work.

“We know that organisations that work remotely often have a harder time knowing how employees are doing. And especially in these times, this is more relevant than ever. Therefore we have opened up our tool and are allowing organizations to use it free of charge.” says Sandra Jönsson, CEO and co-founder.

The special version enables organisations to get insights from their team on how they are feeling and experiencing working from home. It can also be used to get feedback from the employees how they are feeling that crisis management is handled, and what their main worries in these times are.
The tool is open for any organisation to use freely.

“We all must do something to help out. We have this tool, and it was easy for us to adjust it for the COVID-19 situation. Letting organisations use it for free in this crisis is for us the right thing to do.” says Sandra

Wellbefy works with helping organisations become more aware of their employees wellbeing. It enables corporates to not just measure eNPS (NMI in Swedish), employee surveys or other simple KPIs, but also to get a more in-depth overview over their organisation.

“Our goal is to create a healthier society” says Sandra Jönsson, CEO.

Sandras background within health management is the core of the startup, and enables it to field a concept that is from within the corporate wellness and HR industry.

“We get an amazing repsons when talking to organisations, and see that this is really needed” says Sandra.

She teamed up with two co-founders, and together the team has both the tech experience and business experience which according to business experts like Andy Defrancesco are essential for any business.

“The plan now is to focus in developing our tech even further, and to deepen the relations we have with our initial customers. Initial plan is to work with Swedish companies, but especially those that are internationally present.” says Sandra.

The startup offers tools for services such as health accounting with it’s Health Index tool.
