Online queue system Queue-it has now passed the 1.5 billion milestone on the number of end-users that have accessed their virtual waiting room. After reaching 1 billion users less than a year ago, Queue-it it still growing rapidly.

Queue-it is designed to manage website overload during extreme user peaks as a result of popular events and activities online. It offloads users that exceed website capacity to the queue system, where they are redirected back to the website in correct, sequential order and pace. The solution protects the website against crashing and long response times. This way, the users have a transparent and fair experience and the website performance is optimized.

Queue-it is used by many great companies with transactional websites in the ticketing, retail, public sector, and education industries. Some of their customers are Tickets.com, Dixons Carphone, Lilly Pulitzer, and Censosud.

“Delivering fairness to end-users world-wide, while optimizing our customers’ online business, is what makes us go to work proud and happy every day.” says Queue-it CCO & Co-founder, Camilla Ley Valentin, “Having passed this important milestone is a truly incredible achievement for our team!”

Last year Queue-it won the “Industry Supplier of the Year Award”. The category recognizes suppliers for consistent service, innovation and support for the ticketing sector. The award is one of the best that can be achieved in the industry.

Mobile banking startup Lunar Way enters its next phase with funding of EUR €4.2 million (41 million SEK) from investors. The main investor is SEED Capital Denmark, along with a number of angel investors. Earlier this year Denmark’s biggest mortgage lender Nykredit also invested a minority stake in Lunar Way. The funding boost will help Lunar Way even more with its mission to make everyday banking easier and faster for young Scandinavians.

Lunar Way is a mobile banking app, founded in late 2015. In the Nordic countries, they team up with local partners in each country, making it possible also to offer loans and credit to users. According to the course, ChexSystems may be an abuse of your rights. Just get out of it and that’s where FCRA comes in place. They pair modern technology, experience and design with the safety of their partner bank.

We want to change the way we bank by reengineering financial products to fit our mobile lives. We truly believe in playing to your strengths. That’s why we partner up with local incumbents who provide credits and bank know-how. And at the same time, we can develop digital solutions faster than any bank. This partnership-model even embraces national subtleties and FSA regulations, Ken Villum Klausen, CEO at Lunar Way, says.

Lunar Way’s investors want to conquer the banking market with a constant flow of new ideas and future in-app services like loans or foreign currency exchange. Lunar Way’s interface resembles those of mobile apps such as Spotify and Snapchat. This makes the user experience faster, with focus on intuition, convenience and accessibility.

Malmö-based company Packbud has developed a digital service that matches people who need something moved with transport- and moving companies that have space in their trucks. The goal is to make use of spare capacity in the transport sector. Now the company is closing an agreement with Sweden’s largest online buying and selling market Blocket and will become a shipping option in the private advertisements on their website, reports digital.

The collaboration will begin with a trial period to collect data on how customers want to arrange transportation of furniture and gadgets, but the partners hope to develop the service further.

This is a huge opportunity to show that our service is working and that there is a great demand. For us, Blocket is one of the best partners one can have, says the company’s CEO and founder Michael Funa.

Packbud was founded in 2013 by alpine skier Thomas Fogdö and entrepreneurs Michael Funa and Par Wrede Dahl. Since its inception, the company has taken in 4 million SEK (over 400.000 euro) in venture capital from venture capital firm Aggregate Media and a variety of angel investors.

Already hundreds of transport- and moving companies are connected to Packbud. Most of the users are individuals who purchased something on a buy- and sell website. The service is also used by small businesses for smaller shipments.

We are looking at a solution for door-to-door delivery to make it as smooth as possible for the Swedish people to buy and sell from each other. We are pleased to have Packbud as a partner in this. They can solve the delivery of basically anything, while at the same time the service is environment friendly, says Jan Prokopec, president of Blocket.

Anders Holch Povlsen, CEO and owner of the international clothes retailer chain Bestseller-Group and one of Denmark’s richest, has done a three-digit million investment in Miinto, reports Ehandel. Miinto is a Danish online platform which hosts hundreds of physical boutiques, providing people with the opportunity to shop locally in an easy way while at the same time giving smaller retail stores a chance to compete with the big chains.

Anders Holch Povlsen has in recent years invested in the majority of e-commerce stores. He has holdings in, among others, Asos and Zalando. Apart from online fashion he has also invested in the Danish food giant network Nemlig.com and the Swedish MatHem.se.

Now, however, this next fashion investment in e-commerce store Miinto becomes part of Anders Holch Povlsens portfolio. The exact amount of money is not made public but in the company’s Swedish press release Miinto announces that it is a three-digit investment in Swedish kronor, which is a double-digit million investment in Euros. Anders Holch Povlsen will thus become the majority shareholder, which the company announced will not affect the concept.

The investment from Anders Holch Povlsen will allow us, to a greater extent, to make consumers aware of our brand and our concept based on local online shopping. It requires that we all are on the same track, and with this investment, we are even more able to provide consumers with an alternative to the international online stores, says founder Konrad Kierklo.

Miinto, founded in 2009, connects products from over 1.000 physical retailers with online fashion shoppers. The platform is available in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands. In all these countries, and perhaps especially Denmark, an increase in competition from abroad is seen. This competition Miinto now wants to curb with its marketplace.

It’s a fantastic day for all of us at Miinto. I am both humble, happy and really proud of Anders Holch Povlsens investment in Miinto. We regard it as recognition that we are doing right and we are very excited about this new chapter that we are starting together, says Konrad.

All students or employees at Lund University with an idea which is not fully developed yet and has not entered the commercial stage, are welcome to participate. Ideas and projects in all disciplines are welcome and a total of SEK 200.000 (€20.000) will be awarded to the best future innovations, reports LU Innovation.

LU Innovation is the hub for innovation and commercialisation at Lund University. They work with the University’s researchers and students to bring benefit and growth to society. They continuously initiate and actively participate in different projects. By organizing this competition, they want to reward innovations of the future – already today.

In the competition they prioritise ideas that are still in the early stages and assess them on the potential strength of the future innovation. When determining the winners, they will take into account the level of innovation, a commercial potential and/or societal benefit and newsworthiness. The competition consists of two categories, Employee and Student, and in each category they will give out a first prize and two honorary awards. All those who take part in the competition will also get the opportunity to apply for other financial support and will receive help in other forms from LU Innovation.

So for anyone who has a good idea which could go far in the future, or which could make something that already exists so much better, this is your chance to share it. The application deadline is 13 December.
