Gårdsfisk
Farm fish - great fish raised on Swedish farms Industrial fishing and conventional fish farming are surrounded by several environmental problems. Where everything boils down to destroyed ecosystems. That is why we created Gårdsfisk, which with an integrated agriculture and aquaculture makes it possible to eat fish without destroying the environment. On top of that comes a vibrant countryside. For us, good fish means that it is bred with responsibility at all levels. Minimal environmental impact, high animal welfare and of course good food. In Sweden, there are lots of abandoned farms and empty animal stables. Over time, the countryside has developed and today we have fewer and larger farms. This means that there are many farms with stables that today are empty and dilapidated. There, Gårdsfisk comes into the picture with a new line of business that can give life to abandoned buildings. At present, Gårdsfisk® offers two types of fish, Rödstrimma® and Clarias. Our fish are good and some of the world's most common food fish and they have properties that make them environmentally sustainable to consume. The trade name for our Red Stripe® is Oreochromis niloticus; Niltilapia. By selling the fish under the registered trademark Red Stripe, we can communicate the benefits of our fish compared to regular Tilapia, which is often produced under dubious conditions in Asia, and which has therefore been given the red light by WWF. We have strict requirements for our breeding both in terms of environment and health where water quality is absolutely crucial for the quality of the fish, please read more on our website www.gardsfisk.se Environmental considerations are in our DNA and everything we do aims to minimize our environmental impact while we creates a new nutrition with a sustainable food.
