Odd Dreams Digital has achieved a great debut with its title, “Everything is Crab.” The animal evolution roguelite action game sold over 200,000 copies in its first three days, with half of those sales coming in just 24 hours.

The game has also earned a 90% recommended review score on Steam and secured a spot on the platform’s global Popular New Releases chart – a remarkable feat for an indie studio founded just two years ago.

Odd Dreams Digital is a small indie studio, led by Denis Asensio with a past at Massive Entertainment and other international veterans. They have a past at multiple AAA studios and titles, such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Star Wars Outlaws, as well as other indie games.

“From the ODD team, huge thanks to everyone who supported us during the process and after launch. We are amazed about how well received the game is, and, needless to say, this reinforces our commitment as we aim to keep improving and supporting Everything is Crab for a long time to come!”,

says Denis Asensio, CEO and Game Designer at Odd Dreams Digital

From Haven to Hit Game

Odd Dreams Digital participated in the first round of Haven, Game Habitat game support program, in the fall of 2024. Haven is a game support program designed to help indie developers refine their projects and reach new audiences. Since completing the program, the Malmö-based studio has rapidly gained momentum, culminating in the highly successful launch of Everything is Crab.

“It definitely helped us get a clear picture of the direction we had to take to put our studio on the map. It’s also been great to have access to different types of local support through Haven or Game Habitat’s recommendations,”

says Denis Asensio to Rapidus

The game’s unique blend of roguelite mechanics, evolution-themed gameplay, and fast-paced action has resonated strongly with players, proving that innovative indie titles can still break through in a competitive market.
