Yazen, the Lund-based digital healthcare provider helping people lose weight, has raised €50 million in its largest funding round to date, led by Verdane. Existing investor Evli Growth Partners (EGP) also participated in the round.
The company plans to use the new financing to continue expanding and scaling up across Europe, where it is currently active in eight markets. Yazen combines weight-loss medication with continuous digital care from a multidisciplinary team. The company cites more than 50,000 patients currently in its care and over 70,000 patients helped in total, who have collectively lost more than 880 tonnes.
The round lands larger than previously indicated. A few months ago, co-founder Magnus Nyhlén told Rapidus that Yazen planned to raise a €30 million Series B funding round, but the now announced financing turned out bigger and is not explicitly described as a Series B.
“When we first invested in Yazen two years ago, we saw a team with the capacity to set a new standard in medical obesity care. Since then, they have expanded across Europe while maintaining uncompromising clinical standards and a deep commitment to their patients. We are very pleased to continue our support together with Verdane as lead investor. This financing provides the scale needed to reach more European markets and broaden treatment within cardiometabolic care,”
said Mikael Hed, Chairman of the Board of Yazen and Partner at EGP
Yazen was founded in 2021 by Fredrik Meurling, Magnus Nyhlén, and Martin Carlsson. The company announced a €19.5 million Series A funding round in late 2024, and in early 2026 secured a €6.5 million credit facility from HSBC Innovation Banking. Previous investors include Luminar Ventures, Aggregate Media, Fåhraeus Startup and Growth, Helsana HealthInvest, Almaz Capital, and Yabeo.
“We are deeply impressed by the Yazen team and the strong momentum the company is showing. Our analysis made it clear that Yazen stands out as a reliable and scalable leader in medical weight treatment, combining medical excellence with high availability,”
said Cecilia Nytorp, Principal at Verdane.
Swedish Tech News reports that Yazen has not published its annual report for 2025 yet, but shared earlier this year that revenue in 2025 almost doubled to € 29.4 million, with a year-end ARR of SEK 372 million.
