SB1 Pharma

SB1 Pharma is based on a patented technology for detecting aggressive tumors that either lack or have lower levels of a tumor suppressor protein called SMARCB1 and which can thus be treated with so-called proteasome inhibitors. These tumors are currently treated with high doses of chemotherapy and or radiation with serious side effects and poor prognosis. The types of SMARCB1-negative tumors include many different cancers, including synovial sarcoma, Ewing sarcoma and various rhabdoid tumors, and several of SMARCB1-negative tumors affect children. The company's goal is that current forms of treatment can be replaced or supplemented with proteasome inhibitors that can improve treatment results with fewer side effects.
