Danish venture studio and fund KRING has announced they exited legal tech company TestaViva in a transaction that leaves founders and management as majority owners alongside Dansk Ejerkapital.

The exit marks an important milestone for TestaViva. This digital legal platform has helped more than 150,000 people in Denmark gain clarity and peace of mind around wills, inheritance, powers of attorney, and other complex legal matters.

TestaViva was founded through a co-creation between Michael Lauritzen and KRING, building on Lauritzen’s firsthand experience with the complexity and emotional cost of legal matters for ordinary families.

“The early customers confirmed the need, but the collaboration with KRING made it possible to think bigger and create peace of mind for many more people,”

said Michael Lauritzen, Co-founder of TestaViva

An early solution, Sikkerarv, attracted more than 1,000 customers, validating strong demand for simple, digital legal services. From the outset, the ambition was not a single product, but a scalable, fully digital, and data-driven legal platform.

“The first 1,000 customers showed that the market was there. Venture building is about what comes next, structure, partnerships and execution at scale. TestaViva is a strong example of what can happen when those elements come together,”

said Martin Kring, CEO & Co-founder at KRING

Venture building in practice

Founded in 2010, KRING is a Danish venture-building company that has built and invested in more than 30 startups in close collaboration with entrepreneurs and leading companies. KRING focuses on developing validated and scalable business models.

Through KRING’s venture building setup, TestaViva evolved from early validation into a professional legal tech company supported by organisational and operational structuring and long-term strategic partnerships with leading financial institutions. It also helps with recruitment of an external CEO to lead the scale-up phase.

Today, TestaViva represents a profitable growth company combining commercial traction with documented societal impact.
