Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies are setting up in Lund, and looking for engineers to power their electric vehicle developments.

In the region the mobility tech sector, especially softare for cars and trucks, has taken a strong position. The focus is around Lund, where a lot of it is centered, but also places like Ängelholm, where the hyper-car company Koenigsegg is located.

“The location is important to us”,

says Bo Lincoln, General Manager Sweden at Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies.

Bo Lincoln is former co-founder of Iternio, a Lund-based EV route planing startup, which was acquired by Rivian in 2023. Now his team is creating the software and digital execution platform for electric vehicle products from Rivian and Volkswagen brands, including the Rivian R1, R2 and R3 as well as the VW ID.every1.

“Having a site in southern Sweden allows us to tap into a highly skilled workforce with a long legacy in wireless and embedded technologies. This is paired with a strong presence of software engineers and game developers in the region – which is particularly interesting for us from a user experience perspective. The forward-thinkingness and enterprising spirit of Swedish development teams suits our work culture very well, too.”

says Bo Lincoln to OpenTech

The team is currently hiring, and has multiple open positions.
