Entomophagy, i.e. the practice of eating insects, has been part of human habits since Prehistory. In many areas of the world, such as Africa, Asia and Latin America, insect-eating is ongoing and is embedded in the culinary tradition. Meanwhile in Europe the consumption of insects is largely seen as an uncommon practice and is marked by stigma.
