Copenhagen-based Palette announced today it has secured a €3 million pre-seed funding round to develop its operating system for AI-native teams. The round was led by Ugly Duckling Ventures, with participation from Emblem, Acadian Ventures, and a group of angel investors.

Palette is building a platform where companies can integrate AI agents into their workflows without being locked into a single model or vendor. The technology allows teams to retain ownership of their context, workflows, and knowledge while maintaining the flexibility to switch between AI models as needed.

“We’ve worked with this founding team before, and it’s one of the strongest and most complete teams we’ve backed. They saw where AI work was heading before it was obvious. We believe Palette can become the operating layer for teams adopting AI across the whole company. That’s why we led the round.”

says Andreas Green Rasmussen, Partner at Ugly Duckling Ventures

The company’s first product, Palette Desktop, is already in use by its initial paying customers. These early adopters include teams in sales, operations, and product development, not just engineering. Users can deploy agents like Claude Code and Codex on their own files and folders, opting for cloud-based models when speed or cost efficiency is a priority, or local models for more sensitive tasks.

Palette’s broader OS, which includes a company-owned context library, shared skills, and seamless tool integration, is currently available to design partners. The platform aims to make AI adoption more responsible by ensuring that models remain interchangeable while company context remains durable.

“There will always be a newer model. The responsible way to adopt AI is to make the model swappable and make your company context durable. That’s what we’re building with Palette.”

says Brian Kyed, co-founder of Palette

Palette Desktop is available now for paying customers, and companies interested in the broader Palette OS can apply at palette.team. The new funding will be used to expand sales efforts and grow the team.
