Rapidus reports that Airpark, a Helsingborg-based startup within the mobility sector, has successfully raised € 1 million (11.5 million SEK) in a financing round. The funding will primarily be used to enhance sales and marketing efforts.

Initially intended to bring in new shareholders, the funding structure evolved with contributions from key stakeholders, including Jan Dahlqvist and former Findus CEO Jörgen Olsson.

In a strategic move to bolster its team, Airpark also announced it has recruited Peder Ståhlberg, who brings over 20 years of experience in the parking industry. Ståhlberg, a former long-time CEO of Aimo Park, will serve as Senior Advisor and Sales Manager. His extensive background includes leading and developing some of the Nordic region’s largest parking companies, making him a key addition to Airpark’s growth and business development efforts.

“Airpark has an innovative and scalable business model that addresses future parking challenges. I see enormous potential in digitalizing and streamlining parking administration while creating entirely new revenue streams for property owners and drivers. It will be exciting to drive this development and accelerate Airpark’s growth,”

Airpark’s core offering is an app for pre-booking and second-hand leasing of parking spaces. Recognizing the need to expand its services, the company has shifted focus to developing a comprehensive service for parking operators, positioning itself as a competitor to established players like Aimo.

Airpark’s core idea revolves around an app for pre-booking and second-hand leasing of parking spaces, akin to an Airbnb for parking spots. However, during 2024, the company realized the necessity to expand beyond just second-hand leasing and pre-booking.

“We understood that we needed to develop a comprehensive service for parking operators. Almost everyone is using Excel lists today. We realized we needed to build automated waiting lists and that entire aspect, so a real estate company or a parking company can do everything through our app and have full control over all their services,”
