October seems to be a month of Startup Weekends with a twist! As we have already covered before, Startup Weekend Øresund will be held this weekend – on the boats going over Øresund from Denmark to Sweden. And as if that was not a exotic enough setting, the week after, the 30 oct – 2 nov, Startup Borgen will return. Being, just as Startup Weekend Borgen, be held at the Danish Parliament, Christansborg Palace.
Startup Borgen is actually not a real startup weekend, but it is an offspring from Startup Weekend being held there 2013. The concept however differs on some points:
- There will be a selection of participants, because they believe in the innovative strength of diverse groups.
- Extra facilitation and advice from politicians, business people and mentors.
- It is not actually held only on a weekend, but on a Thursday and Friday as well!
- On the conference day (Thursday) with framework conditions for entrepreneurship in Denmark.
Furthermore, they want to reinforce ideas with a potential to effect the society and social improvements. Therefore, the goal that participants’ ideas can develop into both companies, associations, cultural concepts or even political movements.
