AZ Growth Capital, based in Helsingborg, has formed an investment company, Hortus Group. Rapidus reports that they have recently become a shareholder in Linköping-based Senzum Group, a company focusing on providing customer service within e-commerce.
“We are looking for well-managed and prosperous companies with growth potential and plan to have five-seven companies in the portfolio, preferably those who use new technologies such as software platforms. We will have long-term involvement in the companies and, therefore, are not a typical venture capital company.” said Malte Zaunders, partner, to Rapidus.
According to the report, Hortus Group manages SEK 160 million for a group of investors in southern Sweden, some of which come from AZ Growth Capital. Taking a majority share in the companies they invest in makes them not a traditional tech VC, who often only take a 20-30% stake, depending on which round they are active in.
