On thursday Version2 and Trendsonline reported conflicting stories about AppHarbor, a company with offices at Founders House and that develops an .net apps platform service. The rumours where about AppHarbors alleged bankruptcy.
AppHarbor themselves released later an statement where they explained the situation – they where forced due to funding problems to cut costs, and the most efficient way was to close down AppHarbor ApS, the danish subsidiary.
The results are that AppHarbors 3 danish developer have lost their job, but AppHarbor continues to operate from their San Francisco office.
The event, the way it was reported and the effect of the danish labor laws (which may mandate that other companies will be paying for the former employees lasts salaries) also sparked some conflict within the danish startup community, both in the comments on the stories as well as in multiple bloggposts.
