Parkster, the Lund-based parking app, has recently signed a significant agreement with Deutsche Bahn to manage all off-street parking facilities at 170 train stations across Germany. This includes parking areas at all staffed stations and garages operated by Deutsche Bahn Park, marking a major expansion for Parkster into the German market.
The contract represents a substantial step forward for Parkster, which is reported to have spent months preparing for this rollout. The first phase covers off-street parking, with garage integration planned for a second phase.
“Our goal is to continue offering our customers a simple and reliable parking experience. With the Parkster app, we are using an established solution that serves as our digital sales channel for parking,”
says Andreas Wieneke, CEO of DB BahnPark
This deal not only strengthens Parkster’s presence in Germany but also enhances its credibility and visibility in the region, already attracting new inquiries since the announcement.
“We are proud that DB BahnPark has entrusted us with this important digital service. For many travelers, the journey doesn’t begin and end at the platform, it starts and finishes with the drive to and from the parking area. Parkster is a reliable companion for both everyday and work-related trips. We look forward to welcoming train travelers as users and making parking as simple as possible for them.”
says Elin Keim, Country Manager Germany
Rapidus also reports in the news, and that Parkster’s financial outlook remains strong, with the company on track to process €180 million (SEK 2 billion) in parking fees this year. However, the majority of these funds flow through to municipalities and landowners, while Parkster’s net revenue, derived from value-added services linked to its app, is projected to reach € 27 million (SEK 300 million) in 2026, which is a 20% growth from the previous year.
Beyond Sweden and Germany, Parkster is also reported to have secured a new contract in Vienna, Austria, reinforcing its focus on these three key markets. While the company currently prioritizes these regions, further announcements may be on the horizon later this year.
Founded in 2010 by Henrik Hallgren, Parkster has grown significantly over the years. Henrik Hallgren remains the largest shareholder, followed by the Eklund family and co-founder Anders Davoust.
