Startup Weekend Borgen is still under way, and a first product is announced already: Passioneur. Passioneur is about one simple but ambitious thing: making more corporate employees quit their job to start a business.
“We hope to enable people to find and connect with others who share their passion in order to start something together, and encourage entrpreneurship” says Neil Murray, one of the team members.
In a blogpost the team goes into further details:
Our goal is to provide you with connections in the same or complimentary areas of interests that you have and enable you to easily find others just like you in your area who want to pursue their passion.
We believe that by finding others with similar passions you can drive each other on to make the jump, and hey, who knows hopefully start something together.
Currently you can sign up for beta, and also follow them on Twitter or Facebook to get further information when the official launch will be.
Startup Weekend Borgen, a special edition of the Startup Weekend concept, is held at Christiansborg Palace, the place of the Danish Parliament and Prime Minister’s Office.
The passioneur product is from one of the pre-selected teams that was picked to specifically solve a problem, a problem agreed on by prominent Danish politicians following a debate between them. The passioneurs team problem was “Set employees free”, and finding ways to create more intra- and entrepreneurship in society.
The Startup Weekend concept, a 54 hour hackathon, is currently nearing it’s final hours, and the final pitches will certainly reveal more interesting products and services.
