Soop System, a startup offering a specialized business platform for the secondhand market, has been named the winner of the NEST pitch competition and awarded TEKO’s scholarship of € 7,000 (75,000 SEK). The announcement was made at the Habit Impact Day in Stockholm, where Soop System was recognized for its innovative solution that simplifies administration for stores and enhances the consumer experience in the preloved market.
Soop System emerged as the winner, praised for its innovative approach and potential to contribute to the textile industry’s transition towards more circular business models.
“Soop System winning NEST and being awarded the scholarship is an acknowledgment from the industry that there was a lack of system support for circular trade, precisely what we aim to contribute. We started Soop with the vision of making the secondhand industry more efficient and more accessible, for both stores and consumers. This award is proof that the fight is worth it, and that there is a future for sustainable, circular business models in retail,”
said Linnea Lundmark, founder of Soop System
Soop System’s platform is designed to make it easier for stores to manage secondhand products and increase sales through a digital solution that combines the store’s unique identity with a shared online marketplace. The platform uses AI to register products, track sales in real-time, and will soon handle payments directly within the system.
“Investing in promising new innovative companies is to support the long-term development of the textile industry and strengthen its competitiveness. Soop System is this year’s winner because they have an innovative solution that targets a part of the textile value chain facing both challenges and opportunities: the secondhand market and preloved items. Soop System can contribute to the entire industry’s transition to more circular business models and help ensure that every garment produced circulates for as long as possible,”
said Cecilia Nykvist, CEO of TEKO
Looking ahead, Soop System plans to launch its payment solution in both the Swedish and Danish side, aiming to become the go-to checkout system for businesses offering preloved assortments without risk or hassle. The company aims to strengthen the relationship between businesses and their existing customers, who can become the store’s future suppliers.
