Back by popular demand: the Wearable Tech Hackathon returns to Malmö for the second time as part of the Wearables Week Skåne 2015 official program. Thank you Minc in Malmö for this initiative which provides a haven for hackers. Time for you to use yours skills and with the help of fellow hackers, come up with a prototype of potentially the next hottest Wearable Tech product! Test your ideas, and your limit, within Wearable Technology, regardless whether it is related to fitness, health or fashion. What will you be able to come up with in 24 hours?
What: The Hackathon will happen over 24 hours. Doors open at 9.30 on Saturday, with the hackathon starting at 10.30. Electrokit will provide teams with a Starterkit and there will also be a mini-shop open for you to buy extra materials from (bring your credit card!) You’ll be assigned to teams of at most 5 persons, matched together according to skill level. Fuel for your hacking will be offered in the form of snacks, drinks and food. Winners of the hackathon will be announced and awarded on the following Sunday.

Who: The Hackathon is open to the public, and anyone interested is welcome to participate. That being said, this being a tech event, the focus is primarily on IT students, tech people in the region and interested entrepreneurs.
The hackathon asks of you that you have some amount of experience and skill (some knowledge of hardware (i.e arduino), understanding of prototyping, etc.) But if you’re a complete novice, don’t worry! 3 different courses will be offered prior to the Hackathon to help improve your skills. Monday April 20th offers a two hour Laser Cutter introduction, Tuesday, April 21st offers a two hour course in 3D printing and the following Wednesday, April 22nd offers atwo and a half hours introductory course to Arduino.
