Helsingborg-based FSport continues its focus on online sports content and has received over € 1 million (12 million SEK) in recent funding, reports Rapidus.
The startup operates in the genre of Daily Fantasy Sports, originally an American phenomenon in which the user acts sports director and chooses his fictional dream team, whose results are determined by the actual players’ performance in matches and competitions. Games that FSport have released are within such sports such as football and golf, which may include a golf simulator. The reason that the game has become so popular in the United States is that it has been one of the few legally online games where users earn money.

According to FSport’s CEO Hampus Hägglöf, the money is raised from a series of business angels.
“We have held an open dialogue with our existing shareholders, but the lion’s share of these twelve million kronor comes from new shareholders,” says FSport’s CEO Hampus Hägglöf to Rapidus.
The startup has had a lot of activity the last year, releasing a new trotting game and in the fall as well as an ice hockey game. The investment will be used to grow further and also to comply with the increased administration that online gaming for money faces in Sweden from 2019.
