In October, Oracle announced Malmö-based Pej as a strategic partner to address the evolving expectations of catering clients. The joint solution aims to bridge gaps in the contract catering landscape. Catering companies now face heightened client expectations for digitalization, flexibility, and user experience, but many struggle with outdated or inadequate IT systems. Pej offers self-checkout and payment management solutions integrated into Oracle’s Simphony platform, delivering an extensive and comprehensive contract catering solution.
“Working with a global and established company like Oracle is an exciting privilege. Our joint solution opens up new opportunities for catering operators and provides excellent value to the industry,”
says Victor Sandberg, CEO at Pej.
Oracle and Pej are already engaged with several large contract catering customers, with more details on these cases forthcoming.
“We are excited to see this integrated solution in the market. Contract caterers have come far in their digitalisation journey, the Oracle + Pej solution can take them all the way and into the future,”
says Helene Smart, Senior Sales Director EMEA Enterprise at Oracle Food and Beverage.
Pej, founded in 2016, has an expertise in delivering self-checkout solutions and payment management systems. While Pej initially focused on e-commerce, and later consumer restaurant payments during its early years, it shifted to its current focus around 2020. The startup has secured approximately € 8 million in total funding, with investments from notable firms like Schibsted and Polynom Investment.
